A Simple idea

While I was visiting my BFF last month, I was a guest in her basement apartment. She has it decorated so beautifully. One of the things that stood out to me was how she uses her quilts around her home.

This old Singer stand at one time had a top on it.

But my BFF took off the top and had her Dad make rods to fit across the frame. She now uses it as a quilt rack.

A simple idea made into a lovely display area :-)

  4. That is too cute! I have my grandmother's metal base to a sewing machine. She took it apart and used a large old heater grate for the top. It was always on her porch full of plants. Now I use it as a tabe behind my couch.

  7. That's a great idea! I have a base just like that with no cabinet. My father-in-law build a wooden table top for it...I keep it in my kitchen and use it for extra counter space.

  19. that is a very good idea. I've got the bottom of a singer machine. Right now I think it is in the garage with just a piece of board sitting on top of if to put things on. I've been meaning to have a top permanently attached to it. It makes a great quilt rack for a beautiful quilt.

  20. Another great idea for a sewing machine base! Love it. I so envy your ability to quilt. I have all kinds of tops and not a clue what to do with them. Thank you for visiting junkblossoms. I hope you will visit often. Merry Christmas.
