when you bought a dryer, the salespeople always tell you how important it is to clean the filter so your dryer would work more efficiently?
Well as a young wife, I never thought too much about the filter. Then one day my dryer did not seem to be drying very well. It would run and run and the clothes would still be a little damp by the end of the cycle. My brother in law was over one day, and I mentioned it to him. He went directly to the filter, and of course it was clogged full of lint! Gulp!!!!
Since I had my fall, my family has been doing such a great job of helping with the laundry. And since we moved into this new house, the previous owners left their HE washer and dryer, which has made laundry so much more exciting, that is if laundry can be exciting.
Now you know what kind of things can end up in the wash. We have always had a rule in our house. If I find money in the laundry, it goes into a pot by the washer, and all the loose change is used for fun things. So imagine my surprise recently when I went to move some of my hubbys clothes from the washer to the dryer and I see this -
Bills!!! Lots of them!!!!! Apparently my sweet hubby had put his clothes in the wash and left these in his pockets. Woo-hoo......
I found these bills, and of course, nice person that I am, I folded them up and put them on his dresser.
And after the clothes were dried, and as I was taking them out of the dryer, I looked into the dryer to see..........
sigh.......... more for the picking :-)
Just thought I would share a little smile with you today.
Happy Quilting!
money found in the washer/dryer is MINE!! Since I don't work outside the home, I kind of like that I get "paid" every so often...
ReplyDeleteWow! I say finders keepers! LOL The most I ever found in the washer was a dime! LOL
ReplyDeleteUsually I look in there and find rocks and other treasures that I missed from my kids' pockets. I'd much prefer the cash!
ReplyDeleteheck, you're a much better person that I am! When I find money in the laundry (admittedly, it's usually from the kids, cuz my husband does his own laundry), I figure this is a tip for the laundry person (i.e. me!). :-)
ReplyDeleteGee, I wish I had a dryer that produced money! It would almost be like it grew on trees LOLO!
ReplyDeleteToo funny Jocelyn. The guys didn't take their wallets out of their jeans and when I came out with them....soaking wet, I told them that I was claiming them for our fun fund. They objected very strongly LOL.
ReplyDeleteCrispy
what a nice surprise to find cash in the dryer woo hoo.
ReplyDeleteMy how I wish my dryer operated and put out money. I bet your hubby checks his pockets better next time. Too, maybe it was just a love gift for you to find.
ReplyDeleteHow funny Josh! But I would have kept it and put it in my fabric fund!!:)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you. Any coins or bills found in my dryer are my property. Do we call this "clean money?"
ReplyDeleteOur dryers should always dispense money to us when we use them. I hate laundry!!!
ReplyDeleteYou gave it back??? I always said finders keepers, lol - and used it for fabric!!! You're a better woman than I am, lol.
ReplyDeleteThose bills would have been mine1!!!
ReplyDeleteTime for some fun Jocelyn!
ReplyDeleteWow, that would have been pretty tempting! I was thinking at first you were going to say he just handed the $ back to you! Love your new dryer!
ReplyDeleteHey..we all deserve a great 'tip' once in awhile!
ReplyDeleteDo we see more fabric or tools in your future?? Hee Hee!!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, your dryers poops out money...can I come over and do clothes?
ReplyDeleteHow come all I get is screws, nails, nuts, bolts etc.?
ReplyDeleteLOL too funny!! I say you did the right thing!! Some of those bills look like big money & might have made you pay the bills!
ReplyDeleteAnd they don't look like singles either! That's what I find.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! You hit the jackpot!
ReplyDeleteOH boy, he could have been out of some money if you hadn't put it back on his dresser. Bet he won't do that again.lol
ReplyDeleteWhoever does the laundry and finds the money gets to keep it at my house. Needless to say, I wish they all left more money for me.
ReplyDeleteEureka!! :) Thanks for the smile.
ReplyDeleteYou are a better woman than I am. Laundry money is my money. It sort of makes up for the gum and ink pens.
ReplyDeleteA little bonus was left for you for being so good about giving back his money! I wish money was left in my dryer! Nola
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool thing...money in the dryer!
