Spring? Really??

Okay so everyone is tired of winter, and snow. So what do Southerners do on Spring Break?? No beach for us........... we head to the mountains of West Virginia. And SNOW!!

My children love to snowboard, so as a last minute idea, we headed for the slopes.

The first glimpse of a mountain.

Yeh, yeh, we are flat landers.

Oh boy, we are going through a mountain!

See it doesn't take much to get us excited :-)

Are we there yet??

Uh, NO!

woo-hoo, we are starting to see snow on the side of the road!

Getting closer..........

We made it!

And this is the view from the window.

It had snowed the day before we arrived. It was 29 degrees the first night.

Getting ready to make a run.

I took these pictures out the back of the condo. I was not about to get out in that cold stuff ;-D

Although my hubby and I did drive up to the top one afternoon.

But we were just tourists.

The kids had a blast. It was a nice relaxing time for hubby and me too. Catching up on some reading and knitting. So there was no sewing or quilting last week. Only enjoying God's beautiful creation.

Happy Quilting!

  1. I completely understand going where the kids are happy but I think I would suggest they take surfing lessons LOL

  2. I love the snow. We've had waaay more than we need this winter, and I'm soooo ready for spring, but I wouldn't want to skip wintertime.

Glad you had such a good time in the mountains!

  16. Great photos. We've driven that route too! I know kids have so much energy. But staying warm and watching the fun is better than being out there.
