Paducah - Quilt City USA

It only seems appropriate to finish up the week with a post about Paducah!

Paducah is a small town which comes to life every Spring. What the Quilting world has done for Paducah has taken a little dot on the map and brought it world wide fame.

The murals on the flood walls depict the history of Paducah on the Ohio River.

The taste of Kirchhoff's Bakery is not to be missed -

"Five generations of baking and food service in the same location since 1884. Buildings are on the National Historic Register. Deli sandwiches made to order w/homemade soup; bagels and pastries at breakfast."

The Finkle building which houses

the Hurt Book Sales.

The National Quilt Museum

The city that welcomes Quilters from all over the world........

Thank you Paducah! You are a Quilters best friend :-)

And for you, my dear friends, another giveaway. I picked up this book at the Finkle building. It's a great book for piecing and applique. Just leave a comment on todays post.

And if you would like to be entered for yesterday's giveaway, don't comment here, leave your comment on the post for 5/6. One comment for each giveaway.

Have a great weekend!

Happy Quilting!

  4. Oh my gosh! What a wonderful city! I love visiting places that have maintained their older and original buildings and kept them open for business...like the bakery, YUM! The bookstore was looking pretty inviting too. Those flood wall murals are breathtaking in the photos, I can't imagine how beautiful they are up close and personal. So much talent! I love the band in the gazebo too...well, I guess I could have kept this shorter by simply saying I love all of the photos, LOL. Thanks so much for sharing your Paducah adventure with us. It has been the next best thing to being there. Thanks also for a chance at to win this wonderful book, I am just starting my applique adventures, learning by trial and error and having a delightful time trying different things.(trying is the key word here, LOL) Hugs...
