Butterflies, dragonflies and goldfish - oh my!!

Darlene convinced me to submit a quilt for the Pets on Quilts Show. So here they are, my little babies......

I had to stoke them up by feeding them.
I splash my hand in the water and they come, cause they know it's time to eat.

And then they follow the food as it floats around the pond.

There always seems to be one left behind to check out that it's all gone.

And this morning, I put the quilt out to see if I could attract any passing butterflies or dragonflies.

Although they zoomed by my head, they did not seem to want to check out the quilt ;-)

So now if you go back to Insights From SewCalGal you can see all the other adorable Pets on Quilts. And don't forget to go back on Saturday or Sunday to vote for your favorite. You could vote for mine under Other Pet" catagory ;-D

Hope your day is a Happy one!

  1. Hey! Goldfish count! They eat out of your hand and you don't have to let them out or clean their litter box!

  9. Cute! I love how you have trained your fish to come to you. I have a huge rainbow fish that has trained me. When he is hungry (which is always) he swims into the heater that hangs in the tank so that it makes a clicking noise on the glass. Then I jump up and feed him. It works every time!

  10. Are those really Goldfish are are they Koi? Either way I'm truly happy you officially entered your interesting pets in the Pets on Quilts Show. And I love your quilt by your pond too. Actually a lovely setting for a quilt photo shoot. I think you'll have quilt book publishers knocking at your doors soon to use your pond as a photo shoot setting.

Ok, I have to ask. Do you have names for your pets with gills ? Orange, Tangerine, BrightBoy?

  35. I really enjoyed your fish. So glad you didn't put them on the quilt!! That wouldn't be fun seeing the poor things flop around. Cute quilt, very pretty - and I know about those dragonflies! They are always over head not where you want them - but I appreciate you trying!
