My Pink Strings quilt is coming right along. I have finished up these blocks.
I think I just need three more and then I will start sewing the blocks together.
Here is the link for the tutorial at the Craftsy website. It will be listed under the March BOM. The tutorial is made with 6 1/2" blocks but I made mine 8". I did use white muslin for the foundation. I love how it looks with the white strip in the center. I plan to put a small white border around the whole quilt.
This has been so much fun, digging through my scrap fabric, finding material that was used on other projects :-) Sweet happy memories.
Your colors are gorgeous and what a great use of scraps. Cant wait to see the finished quilt!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blocks... string quilts are addictive, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteI love string quilts. Yours is beautiful in those colors.
ReplyDeleteA couple of years ago we had a block swap for a string quilt. On the white string we wrote our names and countries. It ended up being a beautiful and colorful quilt, interesting to look at because of the variety in fabrics.
Your string quilt is very pretty.

ReplyDeleteI love string quilts and this one is one of the prettiest! I love the pink. I don't think I have enough of one color to do this, but I sure would like to.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is looking wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI really like how the string quilts look when there is a "color theme". I think the white muslin looks really pretty in the center too! When I have made these kinds of blocks, I put an extra strip of the solid back fabric...right under the middle and when the two first strips are sewn it is held in place. This gives the center a bit more strength...as the strip parts are a wee bit heavier. =)
