Remember when I was working on these??
And so it grew to this -
And finally it became this -
This is a project I've been wanting to make for as long as I have been saving selvages. I based it on a pattern that was in an old copy of McCall's magazine. I made a couple of changes to the pattern, but I'm so happy to finally make my Selvage tote. I'm telling you, those string blocks are so addicting.
Please don't forget this is the last day to sign up for my SewMamaSew Giveaway.
I will close the comments tonight. And if you are visiting or a new follower, I hope you will come back again :-) Giveaway is closed.
Well isn't that bag adorable?!? I adore bags and that one is so unique. I might need to start saving selvages!
ReplyDeleteHow clever a tote to create, Jocelyn. Have never seen one before. Love it!
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful holiday ... please pray for our troops that serve us, & those that have gone before us.

I always forget to either save them, or to cut them wide enough. I'm used to just trimming them right along the edge of the selvage. But this bag is so cute, I think I'm going to really start making an effort!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I have never made a string quilt - I kind of find it daunting. However, I just might do this! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteCommitment pays off! Love it...

ReplyDeleteWhat a great use for all those selvages - and such a cute bag! Whoop whoop!!
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing! Well done!
ReplyDeleteThe tote is adorable! I really want to do a selvage project eventually.
ReplyDeletewhat a sweet tote ... and the selvages are so coordinated!!! when i finally start using mine it will be a real across-the-decades mix.
ReplyDeleteI'm addicted to string blocks too! I have told myself that I cannot make a "regular" block until my two shoeboxes of thin scraps are empty. If I'm not vigilant, I will be overrun by scraps that I can't bear to throw away. Your tote is just lovely. I'm going to turn my blocks into a quilt.
ReplyDeleteThat bag is great! Love it... :)
ReplyDeleteThis is great! What a fab way to use selvedges :)
