I think this type of quilt will look better without a border.
So now I have a question for YOU. I had many HST left over, enough to probably make a little baby type quilt. Here is what I would normally do with HST's.
So what do you think?? Which block design (whirlagig or ribbon) and color (scrappy or solid) would you vote for??
Your chevron quilt came out great! I love pinwheels, but if I had to choose something else, it would be the bottom block.
ReplyDeleteI like all the blocks and I like scrappy. Your chevron quilt turned out to be outstanding.
ReplyDeleteMy vote is for either one of the first two. I like that design better.
ReplyDeleteI really like your chevron. I made a few tops similar to yours for some Linus donations. They were so fun to make.
I love the way your chevron quit turned out and the colors are my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI'm such a traditionalist so I vote for the "boring" pinwheels.
Love your Chevron quilt.
ReplyDeleteMy vote is for the second to last one.
What if you make some of all the "new" blocks and maybe arrange them from the cent out....make like a center focus of 4 of one block
ReplyDeletemaybe a sashing around that...then go around that with another set of blocks of one of the other designs ect....
Love your chevron quilt - very, very pretty.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I can pick a favorite pinwheel styled block - like 'em all. :-)
Love the chevrons! And the modified pinwheel is very cool! I always vote for scrappy.
ReplyDeleteThe Chevron quilt is gorgeous! And what fun with the pinwheels!!! :)
ReplyDeleteCall me boring... I vote for scrappy pinwheels. Love your chevron quilt!
ReplyDeleteYour Chevron Quilt turned out beautifully--it reminds me of a Bargello quilt I made years ago. I think the last block looks interesting:-D
ReplyDeleteI love pinwheels.....nothing boring about them! But if I had to choose, I'd pick the first one, with the scrappiness! I think when the blocks come together, without sashing, it might look a bit like a chicken wire pattern! Fun!
ReplyDeletescrappy ribbons
ReplyDeletelove the chevron quilt!
I just resolved this problem, I made 2 baby quilts from the same fabrics and used HST's. All the leftovers I made into pinwheels then turned these into disappearing 4 patch blocks.
ReplyDeleteI like the last one...and I know I am going to have to do a Chevron quilt!
ReplyDeleteHey cooooool!! I never even thought of that before! I like the 1-print one :)
ReplyDeleteThe "boring" pinwheel in the different fabrics.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt! I'd vote for 'whirlagig' in solid.
ReplyDeleteYour chevron quilt turned out great! I'm a fan of pinwheels (except for sewing that middle seam) but would vote for pattern #4.
ReplyDeleteLove the Chevrons and agree skip the borders, no need, it's beautiful all on it's own. Love where you're going with the left over HSTs, the top one is my favorite
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your chevron quilt! It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors in your chevron quilt. I pick option #4, and definitely not the pinwheel. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love the colors and the fabrics and the design!! :) It is all so beautiful!

LOVE the chevron quilt, and I agree about going borderless. For the left over HSTs, my vote is for blocks like in the last photo. Scrappy or solid. I tend to prefer scrappy most of the time, but I think they would work equally well in this application.
ReplyDeleteyour chevrons are looking great in red white & blue :) I would vote for photo #3
ReplyDeleteThe chevron is beautiful! I'm not sure which one of the others I would choose. Always decisions!
ReplyDeleteI like the ribbon and I think it looks great both scrappy and not scrappy. Not a fan of that wirlygig one
ReplyDeleteOh Miss J...this is ONE GORGEOUS QUILT! My grandmother was an awesome quilter until she had to give it up because of Glaucoma. I have two of her quilts and I love them sooo much. I also have a small PIECE of a quilt Steve's great, great grandmother made. I would love to have it framed.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful my friend.
You blessed me today. Just wanted you to know~
Love, R
I love the last one. Love the Chevron quilt too.
ReplyDeleteLove the chevron. I need to make one of these. I also laugh, because it always happens to me too - a leftover quilt.
ReplyDeleteVery cute Chevron quilt. I personally love the standard pinwheel, never get bored with it. Your variations are cute too.
ReplyDeleteWhoop whoop for that awesome chevron quilt!! Gorgeous!! And I like the last block best...
ReplyDeleteYour chevron quilt is lovely, I love the colour combination too.
