I'm the type of quilter that needs things to be a little bit organized before starting on a project. So as the holidays have added to the "putting things away" mode, I've been trying to make the most of my time and space for this new set up.
I first went to JoAnn's looking for the large thread holder to organize the cones used for this machine. They had none. But on a recent trip to a local Outlet store I came across something in their stationery department that I like better than the cone thread holder.
I'm sure this wire basket is to hold files, but I loved the thought of using it for thread. And you know what they say about location?
PERFECT!
Happy Quilting!
Is that a long arm quilt machine? I am not very experienced but I have a new Janome now which should help as my old machine was too frustrating to get anything done. I can't afford/won't pay the long arm services so I will be doing my own quilting....LOL! We'll see how that works out! Good luck with your new machine and I love the wire hanging caddy! Perfect!
ReplyDeletePerfect location. I love the look of it.
ReplyDeleteLooks good! I have that same machine, although mine is the Babylock brand...they are identical except for the label. Even the manuals are identical. Anyway...mine is in a different room from my sewing room because my sewing room is windowless. When I got the new machine, I decided to give it a window seat in my office. Little by little I’ve added all the usual tools to that space so it’s like having a second small sewing room just for quilting. I used the peg thread holders, but I like your basket. Very efficient, and it looks good.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year. Looks like you are ready to start the new year with #CreativeGoodness. I like the way you are organized and your machine just seems to be calling your name. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThat's perfect and I like it better than the regular thread holders!! I'm the same way Jocelyn, everything has to be in place before I can really start. LOVE your quilt machine!!!
ReplyDeleteI love to re-purpose things. That basket probably works better than the stand.
ReplyDeleteA large metal freezer basket from the older freezers works too but you have to hunt the thrift and yard sales to find one lol.
