The Places I've Been

It's so fun to find new Quilt shops!  On a recent trip, I was able to stop in several places that were pretty awesome.

First stop.............

There were some great samples to drink in.

I would go back there in a heartbeat.

Second........................

This shop also had some very pretty quilts on display.

Isn't this one gorgeous!

This shop had some amazing quilts, but what I found was that most of them were kits.  And their fabric was a little on the high side.  Still in all, it was full of inspiration.

I have more pictures to share with you, but I am sorting through over 400 pics, so it will take a little bit of organizing of the places we visited.  So please come back tomorrow and I will have another tour :-)

Hello Peeps

Can I share a little secret with you??  Well it might not really be a secret, but I was very surprised to find this item at such a good sale.

You see I went into JoAnn's, minding my own business, when I saw this sign that said Accuquilt 40% off!!  Now I know JoAnn's is having a huge sale this week celebrating their 70th anniversary, but I never noticed that ALL the machines and ALL the dies were 40% off.  That's a BIG savings.  So I go back and forth if I should buy another die.  I just got my GO Baby, and I have not put many miles on it yet.  But this week I was challenged by Terri  of Terri's Treasures to do something with ATS (All That Stash!)  You can click the link and read about it.

I finally gave in and went back to JoAnn's and bought this die.

I have so many scraps and I think this die would help me to bring order to my scrap bin.

I went ahead and bought the little cleaning tool, as it was 40% off too.  I mean, a deal is a deal, right?

So if you have been dreaming of owning one of these machines, this may be your golden opportunity.  But you better hurry.  I'm not sure when this sale ends.

Friday Frenzy

What have you been doing this week??  After returning from a much needed vacation, I find myself organizing, organizing, organizing! 

Now what would prompt this mad cap insanity?  Company coming............. yep the great motivator :-)

But in a few days I want to share with you some of the places I visited while we were away.

Dublin

A couple of years ago I took a trip with my hubby to Dublin....... Georgia not Ireland!  Right in the middle of town was an old museum filled with antiques and memorabilia. 

As you walked into the museum, right around the corner was an area that looked like an old library.  What is that I see laying on the sofa??

Crazy quilts!!

Let's take a closer look.

I'm pretty sure these were old as everything on display was from around the Civil War time.

I also thought these little dolls were sweet.

I can just imagine some little children playing with them.

You just never know what you will find when you are on an adventure :-)

A Word on Sunday

When we moved into our new home a couple of years ago, we replaced the carpet in several rooms of the house.  After a few months I noticed a spot on the family room carpet.

Of course I was not happy about this spot on our new flooring.  

Recently I read on a blog (and I'm sorry that I can't remember where it was first posted) about spot cleaning using Club Soda!!  Hum........ now this sounded interesting.

So I figured I would give it a try.

 I soaked a cotton ball with the Club Soda and rubbed into the spot.

 I then rubbed it with a couple of paper towels to absorb the soda.

And wa-la!!  The spot is gone!!!!

Okay, you can't beat a 69c bottle of Club Soda :-)
