Our Favorite Things Blog Hop Tour

Island Batik Button completed
Welcome! Today is my day to share with you some of my favorite things!  If you have been following along with the Island Batik Ambassadors, you will know that these talented ladies have some awesome places where they create.

So where do I go to get my creative juices flowing? For many years I never had a designated sewing space. I sewed in the laundry room, in the family room and on the dining room table. You gals know what that means? You start on a project and when you really get going you have to pack it all up! But last year, when my youngest son moved to his own place, I took over his room.

This is what you see when you come in the door. I've moved and re-arranged the furniture several times, trying to find the best working arrangement. So far I like this the best.

My sewing machine is set up beside the window. I get great light and a little bit of an outside view.
A view from my second story window.
You saw my sweet hubby putting up my quilt rack the other day. It's the perfect size for this wall space.

Treasures to be found

It's been several years since I've been up to visit the two quilt shops in the Ocala area. So when we found ourselves close, we figured, why not?  Sadly, one of the shops had closed, but we were pleasantly surprised to find the second shop had expanded. Like to twice the size it had been before.

Lots of beautiful fabrics to choose from...

Bernina Dealer...
And lots of eye candy...

Rack 'em up

I want to thank each one of you who stopped by for my week long giveaway. You still have time to sign up if you missed any one of the days. I will close the giveaway on July 30th and announce the winners on the 31st.

In the mean time I've been a little busy working in my sewing room. I've arranged and rearranged things several times. Saturday my sweet hubby hung a quilt rack for me.

I found these quilt racks on markdown at Walmart several years ago. When we moved five years ago I did not have a designated quilt room, so this one sat in a box. Can you believe that I paid only $10 for the rack?

Hanging this quilt was my long time intention. I love the panel and it reminded me of my own two boys when they were children.

Now if you want to see the rest of my room you need to come back on Thursday because I am joining the Island Batik Ambassadors as we all share our favorite things Blog Hop

The Grand Finale

The last day, finale, finition of my week long giveaway. If you missed any of the previous days, you can go back and comment on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

So today, let's do three prizes, yes??

Prize #1

Pixel Perfect by Tula Pink. Three coordinating fat quarters to get your next project started.

Prize #2

If you like color, this one is for you. 11 gorgeous quilts that celebrate Mediterranean color. And of course three vibrant fat quarters. If you notice carefully, the middle fabric is the coveted Flea Market Fancy by Denyse Schmidt.
Prize #3
Modern Baby featuring 14 different designers including Amy Smart, Melissa Cory, Victoria Findlay Wolfe and more.  I found these adorable fat quarters by Jacquelynne Steves and thought they were a perfect match for this book.

Just dividing up these goodies has so motivated me that I just had to work on a quilting project. I've had this panel for a while, but I felt challenged by Amanda Jean (Crazy Mom Quilts) to get the WIPs finished.

Borders are on, quilting is done. All that is left is the binding. Yay!
Do you have Works in Progress? Tell me how many? In your comment today let me know which prize you would prefer.  Again these prizes are for my US peeps. Sorry about the shipping costs.  Followers, you know the drill.

You have all been so lovely. Allowing me to take you along on our recent trip and hearing from you in your comments. I love hearing from you. It's been a fun week.

Now go... comment...

And enjoy quilting!
