Vintage sheets - my new love

I have become enamored with Vintage sheets. I had a few sheets, but after seeing some quilts made up in blog land, I've been more on the hunt for them.

This quilt sent me over the edge and gave me a goal.

Anyone Can Quilt

And I recently found these blogs where vintage sheets reign.

Whimisie Dots

My Tiny Robot Heart

The Vintage Sheet Blog (who is actually having a Grand Opening giveaway :-)

So take a look. You may fall in love. As for me, I found these two pillowcases over the weekend.

Vintage sheets are getting harder and harder to find in our area. Maybe everyone else is falling in love with these soft lovely oldies.

Have a happy quilting day!

What are good prices to pay for vintage sheets? I'll keep an eye out here for you. As a quilter I've always been told not to use sheets because of the tight weave. But apparently it works for many. I'll keep my eyes peeled for ya!

I can see why, they are lovely.

The sad thing is that I remember these sheets. I probably have some in my linen closet. I really hadn't thought of using them for anything. I can totally see how they could be worked into a quilt or maybe even a little dress.

I'm starting to get addicted to the vintage sheets myself -- my collection is slowly growing. Yours looks lovely!

Too funny. I recall back in the 1970's it was quite common to use sheets for quilting. I'm now hearing many people use sheets for quilting, but you are the first I've seen express interest in vintage sheets. The ones you are showing look like they'd make beautiful quilts!

I have been on the hunt for vintage sheets for a few months now, but like you, they are in short supply in my area. I guess I'm going to have to branch out to a larger area for my search.

Oh wow, these vintage sheets are beautiful. Thanks for the links! I am anxious to see what pretties you are going to make with the sheets you got.

To answer your question: No, I hadn't had to change my stitch length to accommodate the paper method.

Have a great evening. :)

I would love to use vintage sheets but are too hard to hand quilt through. I love your pretty stack of sheets :0)

LOL welcome to the 'other' side! :-) I have a good collection of sheets, and have made one top, but have visions of many more! :-) And I'm still collecting too~ never know what you'll find. ;-)

I know I have fallen in love with them and look for them when I go into thrift shops and antique stores. Where did you find yours?
