A little more progress

My BFF came and spent a week with me. She helped me with some of the packing and mostly with organizing my kitchen. I have acquired so much cabinet space that I was overwhelmed. I wanted to make the kitchen work, but I didn't know where to start. With lots of suggestions and very good ideas, we got a real jump on making the kitchen efficient.

We also shopped :-) Now isn't that the fun part?? We went to furniture stores, Home Goods, Kirklands, and IKEA!! Woo-Hoo........... do I hear an amen to that! It is so fun to go to IKEA. I bought some very helpful things there. Like drinking glasses for 59c. As our collection of drinking glasses had diminished to a few odd pieces, it was great to be able to buy enough new glasses at a reasonable price.

And then we saw this chest of drawers that was on sale. My BFF said that she could put it together. So with screwdriver in hand, she put the puzzle together.

So many little parts.

And big parts!
And wa-la! A completed chest to go inside of my hubby's closet!

Thanks so much for hanging in there with me. I hope you have a great weekend!

Love IKEA - I use the .49 cent kitchen towels every day! That's a great cabinet you got.

When I saw the picture of that hard workin' lady figuring out the chest, I thought "Now THAT'S my momma! :) :) :)
Thanks for your comment on my blog, sweet friend. And thanks for reading it! I appreciate your faithful friendship to my mom, too; I know she really enjoyed her time in the Sunny South with you.

I love ikea! My sewing room is all Ikea as it was affordable and looked good. My favorite piece is my cutting table which is actually a kitchen island. Loads of parts though!

We did chests of drawers in our walk-in closets, too. I'm glad you had such a great time with your friend getting more things organized for the new house!

Your hubby's closet must be BIG to get a nice set of drawers in it. WOW - tell your friend she did a wonderful job.

Friends shopping together is a fun outing anytime. Love the new chest, shopping at Ikea usually means a lot of pieces to assemble.

I know you both did a lot of work, but it's good that you managed to get in some fun, too! I LOVE Ikea...we have one close and I go as often as I dare! LOL!!!

Great idea on the chest for the closet...and your BFF did a wonderful job putting it together. I have to say that I am envious of your big closet...living in a cottage-type house is wonderful but does have its drawbacks - like limited closet space! :o(

Have a great weekend!

XOXO,

Cyndi
