Stash diet

ekkk...... they are reproducing! I have been in stash shock. Since we have been moving into our new(er) home, the ugly truth is coming out. Yes, I am a fabricaholic! It's become an obsession. But my goodness, where did all this come from??

When we started moving, we moved these bins with my fabric into the closet of the guest room.

I really didn't think it was too bad. I mean there are different colors, and styles of fabric that I like to work with. But this weekend, we have gone back over to the old house and it seems like the fabric bunnies have been having a party.

And in sneaks a bag or two (or three)..........

Okay, there needs to be some major stash busting. And a fabric diet is in order as well.

Sigh......... I hope YOU have a happy quilting weekend ;-)

Too funny! When we moved my husband kept saying "I can't believe how much fabric you have!". And I had to think to myself- I know- me neither!!!

Those bad fabric bunnies! I wish they would come to my house and make some stash magic ;) We have a real 4-H project bunny, but sadly no fabric stash bunnies.

Sounds like my sewing room.....I'm too scared to even look at my fabric in case it multiplies before my eyes lol.Hope you enjoy your new house and it doesn't take too long to unpack everything so you can start to relax :) Barb.

LOL I know the feeling! I've been moving mine too and when DH said 'where do you want this bin?', I made the mistake of asking what was in it! :-o

Here's a [now former] secret I learned over the last couple weeks of working on my sewing room.
More fabric than is in one of those boxes will fit on *one* shelf of a 28-29" wide book case. Sooooo, if I can get non-fabric off the shelves, I'll be in a lot better spot. I too found a lot of fabric in my stash that I want to have in quilts soon.

Moving doesn't work with denial does it?! Darn! :)

It always scares me to think that I might have to display just exactly how much fabric is stuffed here and there - mostly in plastic boxes but I know it would be shock to see it all stacked out in one spot. I do have plans and the stacks should be going down soon.

And isn't it funny how much stash you have, you don't quite have the right thing for the next project??? LOL!

It's a "Quilters' thing". No worries, you are not alone. Just know that the fabrics will used at some time or another. I keep telling myself that. :)

But don't you just love it ! Fabric, the cotton, the feel of it, and so much better for you than chocolate !

You know Bunnies do multiply quickly, LOL. I am trying to use up some stash too. Just all of a sudden it hits you how much you really do have. See if we use that up we can go and buy more, yeah I like that idea.

Oh but refolding and fondling is sooooo much fun!! Once you get it all organized, it may not look like too much :0)

It seems to multiply in the night while we're sleeping.

I know the feeling. I bought some plastic bins to re-organize but when I pulled everything out of this one drawer storing some fabric...the area seemed to explode with it. I'm pretty sure it I hadn't bought all that fabric!

Lots of fabric. I bet you have stuff in those boxes you have totally forgot about.:D

That's it.....now I'll NEVER be able to move!!! And I don't even have as much as you do! I'd hate for my Dh to actually "see" all of my fabric together in one place....mind you he does have an idea of the amount.

This post made me stop!!!!!!! I was looking through and reading and there in one of the pictures along the side of your box I saw one of the pieces of fabric I designed some years back! I never know who buys my things and when I saw it I got the giggles. It was the one that had the snowman with the coat and it had PEACE LOVE and JOY! Thank you for buying it wayyyyyyyy back then! It put food on our table.........and now I get to have you sign up for a party! What more can you want?

Have a wonderful weekend!
