Autumn quilt

A few years ago I made a quilt as a gift for my daughters friend who was married in October.  I loved the fabrics in that quilt so much, that I squirreled away any bits of the fabric for a later project.  We've had a week of cooler weather here in the deep south, which made me once again think of this fabric.

It's hard to see in the picture, but each fabric has rich tones, some with golden threads running through.  Yes, a simple pattern, but I think the fabrics add to the Fall flavor.

My heart goes out to the families who lost loved ones in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.  It will take time to fully recover from Sandy's fury.  The weeks and months ahead will be grueling and back breaking.  Here in Florida we still see blue tarps on roofs from previous hurricane damage. Life goes on, but a disaster such as this brings us to the reality of what is really important in life.  Hug your family, friends and neighbors.  We can never be certain that we will have tomorrow.  I may not know what the future holds, but I know Who holds the future.

Hey lucky girl, I heard you won a giveaway, congrats! I love your new fall quilt, nice for a tabletopper too! As a NYorker I am sad for what happened and my prayers are with the families that have los their homes and some even family members. I never imagined anything like a hurricane happening in the East Coast of the USA!!I'm happy my family is fine. Big hugs,
FABBY

Hi there, Oh you've captured my heart with this quilt. I have made an autumn quilt each year and am working on one right now(hoping to get it done before the Christmas season starts). I love your color choices and know you'll so enjoy this.
Hugs, Noreen

A gorgeous Autumnal quilt! My thoughts are with all who have suffered Sandy's wrath. WE have been following it here in Australia with much concern and I send many angel hugs to all.

Really a pretty Fall quilt. Funny how we fall in love with fabrics, while making a quilt, and "squirrel" away pieces to make a future quilt. Love it.

Sweet little autumn piece -- love it!! I understand what you mean about still seeing blue tarps from the last hurricane there...we still see tarps and damage from the tornadoes in the spring of 2011 -- and this past spring, too. I felt so bad for several homeowners who had literally just finished rebuilding from the 2011 tornadoes, only to be wiped out again in 2012. I feel worse for those who *don't* Who it is that holds all things in His hands. I can't imagine facing that kind of trial on my own. :)
