Before the fall

Before my fall and wrist injury, I was working on these quilt tops for my nephews little girls for Christmas..  Thankfully my sister-in-love came to the rescue and quilted them for me on her mid arm.  I really appreciated her taking the time to finish these quilts for me.

I hope each one of you enjoyed a very happy Christmas.  Ours was pretty quiet.  I was dreading the 26th, as that was when I was to get my staples out.  And let me tell you, it was NO picnic.  I had over 30 staples in three incision sites. Let's just say it was like being stung by a bee or wasp over and over.  Still have lots of tenderness and discomfort. And physical therapy to try to get the movement back in my fingers and hand.

I want to say THANK YOU to all of you who expressed concern and sent words of encouragement and cards after I broke my right wrist.  It is a pretty bad break and I have a long way to go for a full recovery (2 plates and 15 screws are holding things in place).  I've been a little low with all this happening right at the holidays, but I am trusting in God to restore my hand so that I can start quilting again.

And a special THANK YOU to three of my blogging buddies who sent me this beautiful bouquet of flowers with their get well wishes.

Thank You
and Barb
You gals are the best!

Your sister-in-love was truly your Santa this year and the quilts turned out wonderful. I too broke my wrist, but it was a number of years ago. The PT went on for months but I can assure you that you will get the use back. Just take your time and do a little bit of PT each day and before you know it, you'll forget that it ever happened, except for when you glance at your scar of course.

Oh, Jocelyn - I am soooo sorry to hear about your wrist! I've not been in Blogland since Thanksgiving so I'm catching up as best I can with everyone - and posted today with my own biz of the season. I hope you are getting some good rest while you mend - and though sewing might be trying at this time - I'm sure there's no end of creative ideas rumbling about. Perhaps you will create something new from this down time.

May you and yours enjoy God's blessings in the new year!
Joy!
Kathy

I'm sorry to read about your injury... I went through a long recovery from a badly broken leg 3 years ago. Take it a day at a time and keep focusing on your progress. PT is hard work but you WILL get back to where you were! Beautiful quilts too.

Jocelyn, they turned out beautifully - what a great SIL! Your injury sounds absolutely horrific. I've been praying for the Lord to heal you quickly, and to restore you fully. Drink lots of milk, or other foods with high calcium...and massage your fingers, gently. Be diligent with your therapy, hon. That was so very sweet of the gals to send you flowers, they are lovely! We're all pulling and praying for you, dear Jocelyn, please take care and have a very happy and HEALTHY new year!
