 My Review

Stay With Me by Becky Wade is another heart pounding, powerful, sweet romance that will capture your attention. This is the first novel in the new Misty River series.

Popular Bible study author and motivational speaker Genevieve Woodward finds herself in a stranger's guest house. When Aussie Sam Turner finds her, he wants her out! But Gen finds a way to persuade him to let her rent the cottage, and even with all his walls up, Sam finds his heart melting.

Becky Wade has written a beautiful story about two troubled people, who find themselves in life's situations as they face the struggles of pain and loneliness. There is so much going on in this story that captures your heart and attention. This story tackles some serious issues. Gen is haunted by flashbacks about being one of the Miracle Five, five teenagers who were trapped by an earthquake and were the only survivors. Always wanting to appear "perfect" she hides her battle with addiction.

Sam's feelings of guilt and regret comes from his worst failure and surviving life in isolation is all wants. But when he learns Gen's secret he cannot abandon her. He only wants Gen to follow his rules. No more pills, get counseling, and don't fall in love with him. Sam is a great hero.

This story is one of hope, love, redemption and forgiveness, with a hint of a mystery. Ms Wades ability to use words to magnify the depth of feelings surrounding the struggles of addictions gives place to the very real problems many face today. And the relationship between Sam and Gen blossoms and blooms as their struggles draws them together.

Becky Wades books have always captured me, as she has a way of bringing her characters to life in such moving ways, flaws and all. Her characters are well crafted, honest about failures and find value in forgiveness and second chances. To say I loved this book would be an understatement. Good clean contemporary romance.

Definitely a 5+ rating.

A special thanks to the author/Prism Book Tours for a copy of this book. All views expressed are my honest opinion.

Cutter power

When I started making quilts for the Hands2Help challenge, I made 5" blocks from fabric I had on hand.

I like the way this one turned out so I went on and made second one.

This one is more for a baby boy. With my Accuquilt GO! cutter, I am able to cut 5" squares so quickly.

By cutting a 5 1/2" strip, there is very little waste.
Another one in the works!

You are my Sunshine

I've been busy finishing up quilts for the Hands2Help challenge. When I finished quilting this quilt, I thought it looked a little plain. So I added the words and hope that it gives courage and hope to the recipient.

H2H Parade of Quilts

Today we are sharing a Parade of Quilts for the Hands2Help challenge. Some of mine still need the borders sewn down, but this is what I have made for this worthy cause.

I liked the way this one turned out that I made another one with boy type fabrics.
Happy Quilting!

On a Coastal Breeze

On a Coastal Breeze by Suzanne Woods Fisher picks up where On a Summer Tide leaves off.

Three Sisters Island and the Grayson family are at the center of this novel. Maddie Grayson has hung her counseling shingle in the basement of the church office. When the new pastor parachutes in, Maddie is shocked to see it is the one person she hoped to never see again.  Ricky O'Shea, who taunted and tormented Maddie through out her young life.

There is a lot going on in this book. Not only is Maddie battling her own fears, but with the return of Rick, old anger and hurts fill her thoughts. Rick on the other hand, has apparently changed. Wanting to make restitution for his wrong doings of the past, but can Maddie move past her anger and trust Rick to have really changed?

There are a lot of emotions that come into play with the story of the Grayson sisters. Maddie seeming the more sensitive sister, brings out the many facets of feelings between her sisters Cam and Blaine. Learning from their many mistakes and moving forward. The story was well written, characters full and well developed.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher. All views expressed are my honest opinion.

What I have been doing.

Ok, so I've been working on quilting my charity quilts for the  Hands2Help challenge. I ran into a little problem with my Sweet Sixteen and have been on the phone with them. Twice!

My sweet daughter brought home this lovely bouquet of flowers for Mothers Day.

And I was so excited when she gave me this cookbook!

Oh wow, there are so many recipes that I want to try. Yum!!

Happy Quilting!

Psalm for Mama

Wishing each of you a Happy Mothers Day, whether you are the nurturer, or have ever been nurtured by a special lady in your life. May this day bring some sweet memory to cherish in your heart.

"Psalm for Mama"
Forgive me for the times I may have hurt you. Hear the song of love in my heart.

I do not remember the times I drank from your breasts, or the times I slept in your arms, or the times you sat beside me as I tossed with fevers.

I do not remember them, but I know those times existed. I have experienced those times with my daughter who will also not remember them.

I now understand things only mothers understand.

And at night, when I bend over and kiss your granddaughter, I sometimes feel your love in the room.

I only hope.... you can feel mine too!

A bargain is a bargain

You know over the years I have always tried to share when I find good prices on things we as quilters use. Several years ago, I shared about using your 50% Joann's coupon at Michael's for batting.

I found another source and it might even be a better buy.

Batting at Hobby Lobby is $4.99 a yard. With my 40% off coupon, it came to $3.00 a yard. Which made me very happy.

They also had lots of fabric, which is almost non-exisitant in my area.

Here is what Joann's looked like.

Top row is all the cotton they have left.

And take a look at Walmart!

I sure hope everyone is making masks with all that fabric. Or could it be that the suppliers from Asia have stopped shipping? Does anyone know?
