Happy Blogiversary

On February 19, 2009 I started blogging. I really didn't know a lot about blogging but had been following the Pioneer Woman, and thought I would give it a try. My goal was to journal my quilting adventure. Things have really changed in 13 years. A lot of bloggers are gone, as well as quilt shops. Comments are down, as I think many bloggers have gone over to Facebook and Instagram. But I have learned a lot from the bloggers who have sustained over the years.

As a "Thank You" to my readers and followers, and in appreciation for all of your kind comments, it seems appropriate to have a little giveaway!

A fat quarter bundle and some matching fabric.

To enter the giveaway, just leave a comment.  You can tell me where you live or how the weather is in your area.  Or you can let me know how long you have been reading my blog.  This giveaway is open to US residents only due to shipping costs.   I MUST have a way to contact you.  If you are a no-reply, leave your email address.  There were over 100 no-reply comments on my last giveaway!  If you are not sure, you can check out Karen's instructions HERE.

Giveaway will close on Wednesday February 23.  I will post the winners on my blog and contact them by email.  I must have a response by February 25 or a new winner will be drawn.

Thanks so much for following along on my little blog.  It has been great fun to meet so many creative people and if you are a new reader, know that I appreciate you coming along on my journey.

Happy Quilting!!

Glad to happen across your blog. I'm impressed that you've been at it so long! I'm a new quilter. Any advice on pressing would be welcome. I'm working on double sawtooth star blocks. They are testing my skills!

Congratulations! I love reading your blog, I just don't always post. I know a lot of blogs I used to read have gone away, so I appreciate those that are still around.

Happy Blogaversary, Jocelyn! 13 years is surely worth celebrating whether it's blogging, sewing, cooking, or living! Blogging is such a nice way to document projects and activities. It's also a great way to connect with others who have likewise talents and skills. I've enjoyed following along with you for quite a while!

Happy Blogiversary! You started blogging a year before I did. With weirdness going on with the “reply” vs. “No-reply,” I’ll leave my email. Not sure what’s going on with that, but everyone is no-reply on my blog right now. Threecatsranch at gmail dot com.

Congratulations! For a lot of people, blogging has gone the way of the dinosaur, but I still love it too!

I like blogs. I get lost in Facebook and Instagram. I like seeing and reading about a project, a tutorial, a location, life. I hardly ever comment anywhere on any platform. But I enjoy and learn. Any of the social platforms look like very hard work, takes much time and organization, and being comfortable with exposure.

I don't remember from whose blog I came to yours, but I am glad I did. I don't do FB, Instagram, etc. So, there are a lot of blogs I have quit following for that reason, or the content got to be more of what I wasn't interested in than what it was when I started following it. It seems they put all the good stuff on the other platforms. So, thank you for continuing to blog.

Happy Blogiversary. I agree with you that life in blogland has certainly changed over all these years. I still enjoy following your blog, as well as other creative blogs. I enjoy the inspiration, as well as the fact that in blogland vs other social media tools, we get a chance to share more of who we are with others. While I truly wish you lived next door, your sharing via your blog is the next best thing.

PS - Your giveaway is lovely and very generous, but should my name be randomly selected I want to ask you to pick someone else. I am finding little time to sew and have a larger stash than my expected lifetime.

Ik waardeer het heel erg dat u al 13 jaar blogt. Jammer dat er zoveel bloggers mee gestopt zijn, maar ik begrijp het wel. Instagram en FB. Ik hoop dat u nog lang blijft bloggen. Groeten Wilma Oud

Hi. I've enjoyed your blog for about 5 years and comment occasionally. Living in Southern California I'm not sure anyone wants to hear about our winter weather but here it is. All week it's been in the 70's except Tuesday...we had a little rain. Next week it will dip to the 50's on Tues. and Wed. (light rain) then back to low 70's. Nights are in the high 30's. It's perfect weather. Thank you for the giveaway!

Congratulations on your Blogiversary! I found your blog during the Tickled Pink blog hop and became a follower. I liked what I saw on your blog at that time and am looking forward to reading each blog post. Thank you so much for the chance at your generous giveaway.

Honestly, I have no idea how long I have been following you. Congratulations, it takes time and discipline. I am in NC it should be warm but I am freezing, 25 here. Please Spring come.

Happy Blogiversary! I only found your blog about a year ago, but I've followed it since that time, as I don't do FB or Instagram and enjoy reading about someone else's life and hobbies. It's like having a pen pal (remember those?!). After a while you feel as if, through their blog, you know this person you will probably never meet.

Happy Blogiversary! I've been following for many years, not sure how long. I enjoy a blog so much more than the quick hit facebook or instagram. Glad you are still blogging and hope for many more years of following along.

Been reading your blog for years, 4-5? We met once, at Happy Apple, when you gave me some selvages for my guild. I'm from Brandon, so our weather is identical.

I don't have a Google account, so can't select that option.

Happy Blogiversary Jocelyn, from Illinois! I have enjoyed following your blog for many years. Facebook has some good points but reading blogs will always be my first love. I especially love the blog hops! I learned to quilt following blogs and will forever be grateful for those bloggers past and present who have and continue to give me quilts to dream about! :)

Good Monday!!
I took a little blog break in search of a little isolationism. I am back and glad to see that you are still blogging. I started blogging in 2008 I think. I refuse to jump ship to IG. You are gifting lovely fabric. Best wishes to you and thank you for continuing to blog.
xx, Carol

Congratulations on 13 years! That takes quite a bit of dedication and and work to keep going that long. Yes, a lot have gone to Facebook, and I enjoy reading those pages too, but Facebook can never replace a good read on a blog. I just like the format better and it's much easier on the eyes. Thank you for sticking with it. I've been a follower for maybe a couple of years or so.

We're having rain here in Mississippi and it's supposed to rain all week long.

The weather here is going nuts - 80’s and then we’re supposed to have ice and cold. Typical Texas weather for February.
