It's been a hectic two weeks. Two hurricanes and all the clean up. Our area is still in shell shock over the amount of debris. Many have lost their homes and everything in them. Thankfully we did not suffer damage from the storms, only a lot of tree limbs and trash in our yard.
This is on every street. Piles of Trees and large trunks that have been cut down waiting for pick up. If I were to say Hurricane Milton was the scariest storm we have experienced it would be true. All night long we heard tree limbs and logs hitting the roof of our house. And the Wind! Oh my goodness. No sleeping that night. But I have to confess that the Lord gave us a sense of peace during it all. It has been hard to get back to blogging when I think of all the loss to flooding. And it is pretty widespread. Not only on the beaches but inland as well.
Thank you for the prayers and thoughts during this time. They have been most appreciated. And could you say a prayer for those who lost everything? Most people living inland do not have flood insurance, as they are not in flood areas. So they will be starting from scratch. Not only here in Florida but North Carolina and Georgia who took the brunt of Hurricane Helene.
Blessings to you on this Lord's day.

It is so good to see this post. I am glad that you and your home are safe and sound. I remember when super storm Sandy hit here on Long Island and how devastating it was for so many communities and the sense of unease that I felt for so long. Keeping everyone in my prayers.
I am so happy you are ok. I hope those who were so seriously impacted will be able to start over, hopefully with special FEMA loans. It will not be an easy path for many. Times like this I wish I had Pixie Magic Dust and could sprinkle it over all the devastation to make it go away and there just be joy everywhere.
My sister has lost all from her Florida home. While she is fortunate to be a "snow bunny" and have a second home far north of hurricane, all her Florida belongings, memories, photos, loved "stuff", my quilt gifts, clothing, furniture, is all in a trash pile on the curb. Many of the victims are retired, widows, too old to be starting over, very sad. Surviving the Heartache is difficult at 85. The house still stands, but her courage is gone.
Jocelyn, soooo glad you are in one piece and survived this awful ordeal.
I have read that flood insurance for anyone living in hurricane areas is so expensive that few people can afford it. One newspaper said it cost over $2,000 per month! People still need money for the luxuries of food...
We are still praying...
I'm so glad you are safe. I can't imagine how hard it would be to start over at this stage of life (or any stage).
