The process

Last August I started on a journey with a couple of girls from my church. Teaching them sewing and quilting. It has been a slow process, as they did not have any previous experience with sewing machines. But we made a good start and planned to get back together to finish their quilts.

As it turns out, the week we had planned to sew, a hurricane made a big mess of our area. So we put it off for another time.

Well yesterday we finally were able to gather together and work on their quilts. They are doing such a great job.

They finished piecing and tackled the quilting process with great courage.

We still need one more day to do the finishing touches, but all in all they were great to work with and I look forward to doing another quilt with them.

Have you ever taught someone to quilt? Did someone teach you?

My mom taught me how to sew, although I learned how to hand quilt from books (pre-internet 😊) and in the last few years learned so much from Internet tutorials! But I've been teaching granddaughters how to sew and helping women at church learn how to make a quilt.
