Ok this is probably a loaded question. Do you enjoy sewing binding?
Since I have been down with a back injury, I took the time to sew the binding on the quilt I made for my hubby a couple of years ago. It was ready and waiting...........
But I have never enjoyed sewing down the binding. It takes too long, almost like a waste of time (sorry). It took me longer to sew it down then to quilt the whole quilt. But it is done now. And I am glad.

I enjoy the binding process! I used to do a lot of hand quilting, but now quilt most on my domestic machine, so I enjoying having something to work on in the evenings.
I machine sew all my binding, but I'd rather be done with it at this point. I don't mind doing it on the machine most days, I just want to move on to the next project.
Often it depends on how it goes when I come to the corners. Sometimes I find I should have cut the binding a wee bit narrower if stitching by hand. Or a wee bit wider if stitching by machine. While I normally find stitching by hand sort of mindless relaxing, sometimes I want the quilt finished, done, not hanging out in my head any more.
Yay for a finished quilt!
I enjoy it...I'll either put in a dvd I've been wanting to watch or listen to a good suspenseful audio book. Makes the time go faster.
Most of the time, binding is boring. I stitch while I'm watching movies. Currently, I'm making binding for 21 quilts (some faux piping binding which takes twice as long to make). I'll be stitching LOTS of binding down the next few months!
I machine bind. 2.5 inch strips, folded in half and ironed. Sew down to the back of the quilt. Follow a tutorial on joining the ends. Fold over to the top of the quilt, pin, and carefully and slowly top stitch on the edge to front of quilt. Use a matching thread to hide any variable stitch length. Hand binding takes a long time!
I've always enjoyed binding by hand, but I watched a friend do her binding that she hated and said she is always in pain she she sews binding. I saw her posture that was so bizarre - my response was "no wonder!" She never altered her method and never gets a binding done with gentleness! Perhaps this comment might be a tip to those who dislike this portion of quiltmaking. -- check your posture - it should NOT be painful process. Yes, I also like hand quilting so ...
