It's a love/hate relationship. I love cutting fabric, putting it together, quilting it. But when it comes to the final phase - sewing down the binding - my love turns to fatigued dislike.
Sitting in front of the TV, I stitched night after night. It felt like forever. I'm just not a fan of hand stitching of any kind. But finally it was done.
I loved the fabric in this quilt so much that I scavenged the left over fabric and made a table runner.
My daughter happily absconded the table runner :-)

The quilt turned out beautifully! & the runner with the leftover fabrics is a win win!
Thanks for sharing your pretty project. One thought, if you REALLY dislike hand sewing, why don't you sew it on by machine. It can look just fine and goes much faster than hand sewing.
I used to have a hard time finishing projects because I didn’t want to do the binding, but now I do it by machine, and it is pretty painless.
What a lovely quilt. Hearing that your daughter grabbed the table runner made me laugh - you're lucky she didn't grab the quilt, too!
Nice job & thank you for sharing the details with us. Deb E / Calif.
I love hand stitching, but if it's a job you absolutely dislike, just machine stitch the bindings. I often will machine sew just one side and hand stitch the other as I need hand work to do at night while watching telly. Fifty year plus quilter here - I do a LOT of hand work as well as machine sewing. We all have our dislikes - mine is laying out the backing, batting and top and pinning to get ready for quilting -- yes, I do ALL my own quilting. Don't mind that part so much now that I have a mechanical machine with a huge throat. I was quilting on my Featherweight! My neck & shoulders suffered when doing that....
