A quilt shoppers paradise

Do you like to shop? I find that some people are "real" shoppers, who forge out every bargain basement and sale rack. Then there are those people who shop out of necessity. Go in, find object, pay clerk, out to the car!

There are two things that I do NOT like to shop for. One is a car and the other is furniture. Other then that I am not a compulsive shopper of shoes or clothing. I don't mind grocery shopping or other necessary types of shopping. But the line is drawn when I step into a Quilt shop. Something magical happens. So many lovely colors and textures to entice the eye gate.

My sweet hubby took me out for an anniversary dinner recently, and this sweet man asked if I would like to go to the quilt shop that was near the restaurant. I really hated to make him go into this magnificent shop that has over 8,000 bolts of fabric. But, just to please him, and to wait out our time before we needed to be at the restaurant, we went.

Enter through the closet door, as Lucy does in "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" into a world filled with Moda, Benartex, Red Rooster, Michael Miller, and so much more. How can we walk away without breathing in the delights of reds, yellows, greens, blues, and every hue of the Rainbow?

No, this kind of shopping is my weakness. Not only looking at these gorgeous fabrics, but feeling the very threads of splendor. Even with an abundant stash, one cannot leave a place like this empty handed.

Can we??

Your hubby is a "keeper" like mine. Mine seeks out the unusual places always looking for a special quilt shop to show me. We had an entire vacation to the Ohio Amish country, just so we could take in all the quilt shops..There are not many of those kind left.
Sounds like you had a Perfect annivesary.

Whenever hubby and I travel, he always makes sure we go to at least one quilt store-just because we're never sure when we'll get back.
Got to love them! Your store looks incredible!
I'd spend hours in it.
Have a wonderful weekend.

My LQS is right near me and Hubby's favorite restaurant which we only go to for special occasions. It makes me so happy when he suggests we walk around town before dinner and go in the quilt shop. I never can leave empty handed either! I love the fabrics you picked. I think I might even have a FQ of the top 2.

What a great hubby you have - yes, fabric shopping is the ONLY kind I love. Well, book stores affect me the same way...and thrift stores...but groceries, clothing, anything necessary is just a big yawn.

Happy anniversary! Your husband knows how to make you smile! It would be REALLY hard for me to come out of the shop with empty hands! Beautiful fabrics!

It would be a crime to leave empty-handed!

Bet they had lots of choice in dark browns... (re: my search for this colour for my brown-turquoise quilt :)

Cheers,
