So tell me, is it the piecing
or the quilting?
Piecing?
or quilting?
Whichever draws you to the quilt...........
there is just one very important thing you need to remember...........
No touchy.......................

thanks for sharing all the wonderful pictures. Just what I needed, a nice bit of inspiration. once I get that label put on , i can go on to the next project. yippee.
That last one is a hoot. I've only attended our own guild-sponsored show, but attendees are offered gloves so we can touch. I always have to look at the underside...
Great photos and I love the "They Touched The Quilts" quilt!
Thanks for giving us some inspiration to enjoy. Love the last little one.
Isn't that just the hardest thing...to NOT touch such beauties?
I'm always drawn to the quilt first and then look at the quilting ... but it is the pattern and colours that draw me in.
Lovely quilts (even that last little one) and many thanks for sharing.
It's always the graphics appeal for me. That last quilt is a hoot!
For me it's the design that draws me in, then the piecing and last the quilting. I guess I look at quilts in the same order it's constructed LOL.
Crispy
That last one is sooooo funny!!
Hmm, I think it is the pattern that first draws me in, but I think the quilting breathes life into the quilt. Love the chain gang! LOL :-)
That's a fun way to get an important message across!
I'm usually drawn to the piecing or pattern, but sometimes the quilting makes the quilt. Love all the piecing on the first quilt and the Sunbonnet Sue is adorable.
How cute is the last one! For me, it's the piecing, unless it is hand quilted, then it's a toss up. So much quilting is done on the machine now, that IMHO, it makes it easier for the quilter than when it had to be done all by hand. I know that isn't a popular opinion, but that's how I feel.
I, too, am more taken in by the pattern and the piecing or a particular range of colors used in a quilt. The quilting is of interest to me but more so if it's hand-quilted then if it's done on a machine.....which, as Loralynn said, is not a popular comment, I realize. But...you asked. LOL I do love that last chain-gang quilt!!!
For me I think it is the colours used and the design. I think it is human nature to want to touch a thing of beauty, but I can certainly understand why we shouldn't...
Thanks for the pictures- I look at the piecing- then the quilting. The last one is really cute.
You're a riot. Personally I think it's the piecing. My eyes aren't good enough to see the quilting *LOL* Love the Baltimore Album one. I almost voted for one in our annual quilt walk but then someone told me it was a cheater panel. It was very good though.
Just lovely, what gorgeous quilts! Thanks for sharing - Hugs Nat
Piecing for sure. Unless it is a whole cloth quilt. Love the ball and chain Sunbonnet kids.
hahaha.

I'm not a quilter, but I love looking at the designs that people come up with. So I can't comment on piecing and quilting, but I know what appeals to me, and I love the sunbonnet Sue warning!
I love the quilts...The piecing always amazes me more.

I think the overall design draws me first and then the quilting. If it is hand quilted then I am REALLY drawn to it.
To me, it's probably the quilting. That last quilt gave me quite a chuckle.
Thanks for sharing the pictures.
It's both!!! I am so impressed that people have the talent and patience to make such lovely quilts!
Thanks for sharing the great quilt photos! I look at the piecing first... then the quilting. Beautiful quilts... and the ones from last post too!
I love the pattern most of all, the quilting is secondary but non the less enjoyable to the eye. Just gorgeous quilts, oh to have that kind of talent!!!
I love the little ladies being ejected from the quilt show, (at least that is the way I viewed it!) So sweet.
I love it all - I think I am drawn mainly to quilts with striking design and then I notice all the details! Thanks for sharing some amazing quilts.
Ah, I think it's both. What pretty quilts - and thanks for the warning about "no touchy" LOL!
Color and design. Not so much the piecing..more of the quilting. Artist vision draws me in the most. Of course... I never touchy! hee, hee, hee.
