For the last couple of days, I have been working on the Arrowhead blocks. I've been trying out something a little different in the lay out.
With two baby quilts in the works, I wondered how these blocks might look with sashing. So last night I set up six of the blocks and added some white sashing.
I really like the way the white breaks up the overall color in the blocks. I also think this might work beautifully to make a table runner using three blocks with a coordinating fabric for sashing.
One other little bit of information when you get ahold of the Quiltmaker magazine. They are having a Treasure Hunt. You can do it online, but if you have a copy of the November/December magazine, you hunt for this symbol ....
....find it on the website, and register for some really great prizes. One of which is a sewing machine!
Okay on to more blocks :-)
Happy Quilting!

The arrowhead blocks look great with the sashing, they are pretty colours too.
I like the sashing and I agree....it breaks it up and you can appreciate the piecing a bit more.
Oh geez Joslyn....why put my name in the same hat as yours? I guess I beter go to the court and change my name to Joslyn so I can win too!!! LOL..a little teasing is good for the soul...but just a little bit :)
Smiles,
Kelly
the sashing does give it a great look
I could not agree more, the sashing is the way to go!
Thanks for the Treasure Hunt tip, it's news to me!
Your blocks are wonderful!! I have to tell you that when my issue of Quiltmaker arrived I wasn't real impressed and set it aside...never really took a good look at this pattern. Now I have been seeing it pop up all over and am loving all the colorways quilters are using. Thank you for sharing your tutorial in the previous post...I'll now mark the page of this one for another one of my someday projects! But must admit...you ignite me to want to try a block ASAP!
Sashing does add pizazz!
Pretty!
Sashing is definitely the answer. I spotted the techniue in Quiltmaker the day before you mentioned it and just had to try it. I made placemats with some coffee fabric from my stash. Keep in quilting!
Wow, the blocks are fabulous - love the sashing.
I love the sashing too. Such soft pretty fabrics in this project :0)

Very pretty blocks and the white sashing is perfect.
Your quilt is looking great. I think most of it is the colours you chose. The sashing looks great with it. Thanks for the treasure hunt link. I just might try it.
Wow! I saw the directions and it looks like magic! Your finished blocks are rather magical too with the gorgeous fabric you used!!!
I love the sashing on your blocks. Great job! I've been looking for the Treasure Hunt blocks, too. I didn't realize their was a big prize. It was just fun looking for the blocks:)
Hi there, You are so very talented and I love these blocks and the sashing. BTW, I finished the top for my autumn quilt and now will start hand quilting it tonight. It was so easy and quick-thank you so much for sharing the info with me. Have a wonderful night.
Hugs, Noreen
Oh yes, I love the sashing! Perfect. I looked for that magazine last night but could not find it.
Those blocks are just beautiful, and yes I love the sashing - really sets them off!
Your blocks are beautiful. They will make a lovely quilt or a table runner.
Beautiful blocks!
I LOVE these blocks, so beautiful! I think the white sashing was a perfect union.

Those blocks are beautiful!!! I think the sashing looks great!
The sashing really looks good... gives you a bit of rest as there's a lot going on with the blocks. And I agree with Madame Samm - they look too delicate for the name arrowhead!
