Their selection is not as large as it used to be, and they are leaning more towards modern fabrics. But what makes this shop unique is this.
There's always a group of Mennonite ladies hand quilting. And this is their mode of transportation.........
Happy Quilting!

Oh wow -- that would be the ultimate...I'd love to join those ladies and spend an afternoon quilting! :)
I, too, have visited this quilt shop and it was so neat getting to watch these women hand quilt. I could have watched them for hours!!
My computer was hesitating showing me the last picture and I have to say I was sure it would be of horses and buggies, but I wasn't sure if they would travel that way in Florida. I was born in Iowa and my relatives are all Mennonite with some Amish.
What a neat group of quilters to see ~
:-} pokey
Looks like a place I could enjoy even though I am not a quilter!! =) blessings ~ tanna
Not what I was expecting at a quilt shop in Florida when you began your post. ;-)
Love Alma Sue's and our Mennonite community! If you're in town don't miss their quilt shows!!!
Lovely to hear from you, Jocelyn!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the bicycles. :) Those are the kind I would need as I can't ride a bike.
Alma Sue's is actually in Sarasota! I love that store and visit it when I go visit my sister in Bradenton. :)
