I know, I know it's not much, but I'm hoping to get moving on this once my lighting is restored.
If you have never worked with Batiks before, I found this interesting video on the process of making batik fabric. There are NO machines involved in making these beautiful designs. I was totally amazed at the extent of this process. It is no less than an art form.

And if you are wondering why my blog has been slack these last couple of weeks, the glories of Spring are beckoning me.
Okay, truth! Where would you rather spend your time??

I wish it was spring here! Still have quite tall snow drifts in the back yard.
I've been to Indonesia a couple of times. I wish I was a quilter then so I could have snatched up some of those batiks while I was there. It is quite an involved process!
Oh yes, the wonders of Spring...
I have always been fascinated with the makings of batiks....thanks for the video.
I'm using that same block, with only 2 colors, for my beginning quilting class. Hopefully lots of progress will be made this weekend, and I can show some pictures.
how I love bity and guilds in embroidery we had to do some, mine was a total disaster, will try and find time to watch the video later. I had a friend years ago who was brilliant and make wall hangings that she sold on a regular basus
I wish I could enjoy Spring... We got 7" of snow yesterday and today it is 2 degrees out. But I did love your photo of the flowers. hugs
I'd rather be outside too, but I'm stuck in the studio getting ready for another launch! The outside is beckoning, but I have no gardens to go to until we move once more. XOXO
Beautiful choices of batik fabrics the colours for the block are lovely.
Enjoy your Spring. Pretty Spring garden photo.
Love the video! And I understand about spring. Its chilly and rainy here!
