A drink of inspiration

As we made our way south, passing Paducah only seemed like the logical location to stop. Just across the river we found a great little camp site and spend the night. The next morning my hubby sat out in the trailer as I ventured into Hancocks of Paducah.

If you have never visited this shop, you have missed a great treat. The only other fabric store that might compare is Mary Jo's.

There are rows and rows of fabric, all designated by manufacturers. So if you are looking for Moda, Timeless Treasures, Riley Blake or any of the other popular names, just find the sign and peruse the aisles.

And of course there are lots of samples to drink in inspiration.

 Fabric purchases?  Yes!

I love fabric with words, and it's hard to find locally. So I bought them in two color ways. And of course one can never have too much polka dots.
And a great neutral Island Batik fabric that goes with everything :-)
If you are ever in the area, you must find time to stop. So much fabric, so much fun!

Happy Quilting!

I would say that you demonstrated great restraint in your fabric purchases. It takes discipline to be amongst all of that wonderful fabric and not walk out with samples from half the store.

You are absolutely correct...one can never have too many polka dots.

Enjoy your day.

I have always wanted to visit Paducah when the big quilt festival is in session! What an awesome fabric store! An added bonus! This year, I went to the Vermont Quilt Festival ... maybe next year I'll make that Paducah show! Glad you got to stop in on your trip!

looks like I could spend all day in the shop but afraid although I would want to go home with lots of buys I would end up very broke!!

I can't imagine a quilter able to leave Hancock's of Paducah without a few pieces of fabric in their possession. I'm overdue to visit there ... I'd hoped to get there when in Paducah for Quilt Week, but it was just so crazy busy that I chose not to stop in. We're less than 3 hours away and always pass through Paducah on our travels, so I'll have opportunities to stop in again. ;-)
