Finding good restaurants, antique malls and great quilt shops makes for interesting browsing. You just never know what little treasure you might find along the way. And I've learned that I get an education too. Some items that I purchased years ago, either at Goodwill or a thrift store, are now sitting in antique shops with some crazy prices.
So how about a little giveaway? I'm thinking that I will have a week long giveaway. Something new every day. Maybe fabric? Maybe a quilting pattern? Quilt book? You have been kind enough to read my little blog, and leave comments, and I enjoy sharing with you. The giveaway is for US peeps only, as the cost of postage has skyrocketed, even here in the US.
Today we are going to be going blue and yellow.

I loved visiting you during your trip. I used to do that too and wish I still did. I enjoyed it so much.
My favorite quilt shop is in Portland, Or and is called Fabric Depot. They are not only a quilt shop but have a huge quilt department and always have dozens of quilts hanging for inspiration. If you are ever in the Northwest, you must visit that one!
I always seek out shops when travelling-each one is special and has it's own personality. It's always fun to bring home a fabric souvenir!

I enjoy following along and reading your blog. My favorite local quilt shop is Lil Red Hen Quilt Shop in Paola, Kansas. Jenny stocks a wide assortment of fabrics for the size of her shop. She is so friendly and her staff is wonderful. They make you feel like family. Another favorite is an hour away but right off I-49 in Missouri so it's easy o get to. Blue Top Quilt Shop in Lamar, Missouri. Its a good size shop with everything from modern to repo with lots of samples and patterns.
When you come to Colorado we have some great quilt shops. Laughing Ladies in Berthoud is a great place to find batiks, Civil War, 30's and a wonderful assortment of patterns and supplies for wool applique and embroidery. In Lyons we have the Lyons Quilts. They just moved to a bigger brighter store and seem to have everything. Both are within 15 minutes and the scenery is awesome.
My favorite shop is called Quilting Essentials. They are so friendly. And the owner, Bernie, makes the best cookies. :)

There's not a quilt shop in my area but there is one I like in Evansville Indiana. The name of it is Let's Sew.
We just visited a new quilt shop last weekend. My mums friend had been before and recommended it. It is tucked away in a little cottage and you would never know it was there!

I love Anna Louise's Needlecrafts and fabrics in Louisville, OH. Beautiful Civil War room, great wool room and various rooms for all the other fabrics.

The shop closest to me is Picket Fence Quilt Co. in Wichita, KS. They are always very helpful.
No quilt shops near me...few hour drive to most anywhere. We have Jo-Ann's only. So I ramble the Blogs & on-line shops for inspiration.

There used to be this adorable quilt shop just 10 minutes down the road, but it closed. Now I have the internet or a Joann's about a half hour away. Maybe I should open a quilt shop!!! :)

I really like Verna's just outside of Mifflinburg, PA. About twice a year I make a day trip there and stock up.
My favorite shop is Boersmas in McMinnville Oregon. Can't wait to get back there for a visit.

My favorite quilt shop is online for me but I hope to visit the storefront in person one day and that is the Fat Quarter Shop in Texas. At least I hope there is a storefront to visit. My favorite, somewhat, local quilt shop is The Quilt Place is Rockledge, Fl. Our really nice LQS shop closed a few years ago.

My favorite one is right here in my hometown of Dubuque, Iowa and is called The Quilt Shack. Mary and her husband own the shop and both are so helpful and kind...treating each customer like they are the only one in the store.

Sleepy Valley Quilt Shop in Port Angeles, Washington. When I knew we were going to be moving here, I started looking up the quilt shops. Of course, what quilter wouldn't do that? When I got moved in and got a chance to look around, the first thing I did was to drive there and meet one of the clerks who works there. It is the most charming little shop. It's in an old house and has all these neat little nooks and crannys where I found the prettiest and some fun fabrics. The old garage was spruced up and that is where the local quilt club meets to have their fun! If you are ever out this way, you have to go visit them!

When traveling I always call to see if the shop is still open. I have had the experience of dragging my husband to a quilt shop on vacation to find the shop has closed down, this equals one unhappy husband and one disappointed quilter.
I love my quilt shops in my town but one of my favorites is in Lebanon, IL.

She carries lots of wool for rug hooking and applique but also carries lots of fabrics too. Down stairs are some great things to shop for too. I loved visiting this shop when we would visit my in laws but since they moved to NC with us I don't know when I will get to visit again.

I'm so blessed to have several great quilt shops near me, that, I don't know if I can narrow it down to just one shop. I really like Prairie Shop Quilts in Batavia. Not only do we have monthly Quilts of Valor sew-in's there, but, if I can't find what I want, the owner will order it for me if she can. The ladies who work at the shop are all sweet and helpful. Can't get better than that.

I love Stitch Your Art Out. It is located in Pine Grove Mills, a bit south of State College, PA. They have an awesome selection and I love to just go and browse.

Oh, blue and yellow are such cheerful colors! My favorite quilt shop is Common Threads Quilting in Waxahachie, Texas. They specialize in reproduction fabrics and have the best selection. Also, Waxahachie is a great town to visit with 100+ Victorian homes, antique shops, and The Dove's Nest tearoom. In June and December they have home tours of 4-5 of the Victorian homes.

Fabric Shack in Ohio is a good one, although I've only been able to visit once. My LQS is still my favorite because going there is like visiting friends. On the off chance that you visit West Virginia, it is WV Quilt near Huntington.
Sew Sweet Quilt Shop in Brunswick, MO is my pick. Nice people, great fabrics, lots of patterns and notions, and wonderful retreat center attached.

My favorite quilt shop is JanniLou Creations in Philomath, OR. It's in an old movie theater and the decor reflects that. The room that used to house the screen and seats is huge and chock full of fabrics, books, and display quilts. The staff is so friendly. I've been going there for years and they always remember my name when I go in. :)

One of my favorite quilt shops is called Quilt Country. It's anything but country - they carry a variety of fabric and quite a bit of Kaffe. It's located in Lewisville, TX near Dallas.
Another is called Quilt Asylum in McKinney - another suburb of Dallas. It's one of my favorites because my sister works there! They have great fabric in a wide variety of styles. They have lots of samples and the best service if you ask for my sister (wink).
What fun to read through this list of favorite quilt shops! (You should publish it in a blog post!) I'm fortunate to have several favorite shops within driving distance...Needles Quilt Shop in Wellsboro, PA is the closest (within walking distance from my house!)
My favorite quilt shop is Wish Upon A Quilt in Raleigh, North Carolina. They have a large selection of fabric and notions. They have quilt classes and unique classes like tuffets and such. They are all so friendly there, if I need something and can't get there, they will just put in the mail and save me the trip. So if you are in the South and need some coffee and quilter friends to talk to; just pop into my favorite Quilt Shop, Wish Upon A Quilt.
