I am Grammy and he is Poppy, so the grands can distinguish us from their other grandparents, who they call Grandma and Grandpa. Congrats. Is it is pink or blue?
My daughter gave us grandparents the choice. My SIL's mom chose Gigi so I wanted to choose something a little more traditional so I chose Nana. All the grandpas are known as Papa followed by their first name (so DH is Papa Charlie).
From the time my 2 year old granddaughter was born, I decided that I wanted to be called "Grammy" and that is what we all said around her. Then one day, I walked in the door and she said "hi Bea!". And that's what she's continued to call me! I think it's really cute that she came up with this all on her own, even though my name sounds nothing like that! We still use Grammy and Bea interchangeably, so I guess it's whatever sticks in the long run!
Beware those little darlings have a way of making their own name decisions. My mother became Gram-Crackers late one Christmas Eve. The name stuck .. Mama loves it!
Congratulations! Enjoy your "coming soon" bundle of joy.
there must be something inn the air another blogger has shared yesterday tat she is also about to find out about her first grandchild such a lovely time for you. I am Granny and my Mum bless her Sal always called Granny the great
Pink or blue????? Inquiring minds want to know, lol!!! Woohooo!! My boys call my mom Meemaw - not sure why, or how, but John came up with it himself as soon as he could talk. I had never heard it before and thought he made it up, but there are other "meemaw's" out there!

So...was it pink or blue? I'm just called Grandma, but but the Monkey Boys decided to call their grandpa "Doodah."
The grands call me Mimi too, but I had wanted to be known as Grammy!

Mine aren't talking yet, so I still have this decision to make. Hope you get some good ideas!

When he was just learning to talk, our middle grandson called me Mama and my husband was GanGan.

My nick name is MiMi, which is what I would want to be called. That said, my granddaughter calls me Grandma Amy. =)

Congratulations, now is it pink or blue fabric you have to buy. I am Nannie and love being a Nannie. Enjoy.
