Thank a Veteran today

Veterans Day is an annual United States holiday honoring military veterans. A federal holiday, it is observed on November 11. It is also celebrated as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day in other parts of the world, falling on November 11, the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I.

In the aftermath of World War II and the Korean War, Armistice Day became Veterans Day, a holiday dedicated to American veterans of all wars.

On this Veteran's Day I hope we will all take a moment to honor and remember the men and women who have served, and those who continue to serve to keep our country free.

Thanks for the reminder! I was so touched that on our vacation this summer while we were waiting for various planes -- every time a military person would pass us, my husband would wave at them and say "Thanks for all you for us". It was awesome! If you ever get the opportunity see the movie "Taking Chance" - we rented it from Netflix.

I have two sons serving so this day means sooo much to me. The kindness people have shown my 2nd son who served in Iraq was just amazing. He said people would pay for his meals, come up and hug him....said sometimes it was embarassing but I am grateful for those that look out for this young man and hopefully, the young man that is in basic.
