Today I am sharing from the Spring/Summer 2015 line, Wishing Well. The fabric is called Fishing Hole Pond, and I have to say I LOVE it! When my fabric arrived each fabric pattern reflected a cool, calming effect. I wanted to sit by a river and listen to the wild animals that roam the mountains of Colorado.
I knew right away which pattern I wanted to make.
It can be called Rail and Square, but I call it Rails on Point.
I don't live on a river or by a lake, but draping the quilt along the porch railing reflected a summer time feel for me.
I wanted to use the sunflower fabric so I decided to make a zippered pouch.
I've always been a little leery when it comes to zippers, but Joan Doan's tutorial was easy to follow.

what gorgeous fabrics. your quilt is just lovely. and the tote is so pretty. we spent our summer getting our son married. helping out a lot at their new house, trying to put it all in order. trying to keep our garden going and well. didn't work, we had way too much rain and not enough sun. now we are having sun and 90 degree days and no rain, but the plants are stunted now. Sigh! there is next year. a lot of time was spend with family this year, yeah!!
Wow, what fabulous fabrics! I love that sunflower one best of all, I think. That macaroni salad looks awfully yummy ... perfect for Labor Day BBQs, like you said.

Our summer wasn't everything we had hoped it would be. We did get our daughter prepared and moved her into her first college apartment. There were a couple of sewing projects involved...so much fun :)

Love your projects! It's been a low key summer with lots of time for sewing. I like that. Often we take some trips in the summer but we did that in the spring and at Christmas time so we mostly stayed home over the summer.
Lovely quilt and pouch. Summer went by so fast with traveling around Minnesota on the annual quilt shop hop visiting 73 stores, making lots of fresh food using our garden produce, and working with my mom on a quilt helping her dream come true of turning all her old double knit clothes and sewing leftover scraps into a gorgeous quilt. Love the quilt. I have made that quilt pattern several times...it is one of my go-to patterns when I need a quick fun quilt.
No summer vacations here, working girl. But I did get lots of quilting done.
I have mostly been home, but we took a trip to Lake Tahoe for a wedding, and I have been to visit my mom for a bit. We will do our big traveling off season. Thanks for the chance at the giveaway!

Beautiful use of the fabrics. My summer has been full of travel, sadly not the vacation kind, but out of need to deal with my parent's estate. I have had opportunity to quilt though, so beautiful fabrics are always appreciated.
I spent the whole summer working on a picnic quilt. It was supposed to be done for Memorial weekend, then 4th of July, and finally done by Labor Day. It was just too hot to sew. Or get into the mood to sew would be a better excuse, I guess!
we just moved so I have spent my summer setting up house! haven't had much time to sew, but I plan on quilting soon, very soon!
Your quilt is absolutely gorgeous! It does look like a summer pond. My summer schedule was work as usual, but I had a wonderful weekends playing with my five year old granddaughter. We hiked, picnicked, sewed, and cooked. Maybe we will try your delicious=looking salad recipe next time we are together. Thanks for your post, your inspiring blog, and this great giveaway! I really like your block choice, very pretty! i wish I could say that I made great progress in the quilting room but alas too many projects at work kept me busy. Fall is coming and hopefully a much needed break.

Just lovely. The moose fabric would not be on my 'first' list but you sure used it well and it looks great in the quilt.
We had a lot of visitors this summer, out here on the farm. It was great fun to see the kids enjoy all the little things, very low-tech pleasures for them.

We had a wonderful summer here. We took a road trip to Colorado and spent a week in Breckenridge at a lovely resort. On our way home, we stopped to see the Rolling Stones in concert in Kansas City. A few weeks later, we saw Shania Twain in Moline. I've had a good share of time to sew and visit with friends and it's all been good! I hope your summer was great too!

This was quite a summer. I moved in May and again in July. But I am happy to report that by August I was sewing again. Thank goodness!

I spent my summer driving my second son to doctors. He's got a mysterious illness that no one seems to be able to diagnose. We did get to Iowa to visit my youngest son who's buying a house. On our way we stopped in Broken Arrow to visit oldest son and in Hamilton, Missouri for the Missouri Star Quilt Co. So not an exciting summer.

Love this post! The zippered bags is a great reminder for fun holiday gifts! Love the fabric and the quilt is beautiful. Simple and perfect! My summer has been spent working, working, working... but enjoying my roses and some fun projects along the way. I guess now it's time for me to plan and make sure I make the time to get away next year to have a little more fun. I've had to learn ways to have joy and fun... even when I can't get away much!

Sad to say - I have spent most of the summer working. I just started my own business last year and things have been really busy this summer. Plus I helped my mom move once and my sister move twice within a 6 week period. I'm hoping fall will bring me a little more time to "play".
I spent my summer going to free events in my town, there was a 40's day, a mods and rockers bike show and a huge free music festival, among other things.

Spent the summer at home enjoying the warm sunshine before the winter winds blow. Worked on some projects for our Fall Bazaar.
