Deck the Halls plus (givewaway)

This time of year we do more decorating with quilts than any other.  Tablerunners, wall hangings, throws on the sofa.

Do you decorate for the Christmas holidays? In the past I've participated in Sew Mama Sew's Giveaway day. But I don't see it listed for this year.  So it's been a long time since I've hosted a giveaway, and I thought to end the year with my own giveaway.

Here it is! A layer cake from Tula Pink called Holiday Homies plus a copy of the Fall issue of BLOCK by Missouri Star PLUS a variegated thread by Connecting Threads to pull it all together!

To enter just leave a comment on this post telling me where you are from and how you decorate for the holidays. That's it!  The giveaway will close on December 15th, announcing the winner on the 16th. Be sure that you leave your email contact if you are not a no-reply blogger.

Thanks for hanging so faithfully with me all year. I've not done a lot of quilting this year, but I love hearing from each one of you. Wishing you a very Merry and joyful Christmas!

Happy Quilting!

What a nice giveaway. I'm from Clinton Township, Michigan. We spend Christmas Eve with my children and their family's. It's so great to be all together. Hugs

Jocelyn, you've got a very sweet gift package for someone special! We don't decorate as much as we used to, but still put out our favorite things. Each year, I try to make at least one new quilted piece to set around the house. This year it will be a new runner for the hutch. A few years back, our entire street decorated our houses and yards and won the city's contest. We had traffic backed up every night taking it all in. We were secretly happy when the "captain" of the decorating team moved out of state! Since then, it's rather low-key on our street!

I think it's grand that you can decorate with quilts, etc. My house, sadly, does not have adequate wall space. I don't know how they design a house like this! I'm from Santa Rosa, California; that's in Northern California. I decorate the house with Nativities. I try to get a new nativity from a different country every year.

Lucky me for coming by today. I am from Atlanta, TX and as you has seen on my blog I have most of my holiday creations sitting around. I don't have a tree up yet or very many of my glass wear but soon.... Have a wonderful Holiday Season.

While I've made a lot of Christmas projects, over the years, I don't have all that many to decorate my home this time of year (gave them all away). But I do have a few and I absolutely love handmade decorations anytime of the year, especially at Christmas. Your tree looks so cute. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas.

I put some type of Christmas decorations in every room in the house. My tree is decorated with homemade ornaments, some dating back to the 70's. I live in Illinois.

I love that Christmas wallhanging, so simple and effective. Herein WNY my DH has put up all the outside lights, a homemade lighted star for the barn, and I've put a holiday runner on the table. This year's tree will be smaller and on a table to hopefully keep the new puppy from eating any of the handmade ornaments!

I love decorating my house for Christmas, we have an artificial tree, lots of ornaments we've collected over the years and of course the Christmas Quilts! (Which reminds me I need to get my bed quilt out - made in a round robin exchange it's one of my favorite Christmas items!)

Thank you for the fun give away! I am from St. Louis and still live there. We have the tree up and some decorations around the house. We're doing something new at work this year where we decorate our cubicles or office and they are judged. The winner gets a prize, but we don't know what. I've been decorating with things I have on hand and have only bought one thing. I doubt I will win but it's fun to try!

I am in south central Kansas. Just put up the tree on Sunday. Since the girls married and have their own families we stay here with them instead of traveling to Minnesota to be with my siblings. We see the MN family in the summer now.

I live in Springville, NY which is south of Buffalo. (Yeah, that Buffalo that gets all the snow). They are calling for 2 feet today. I gather projects through the year for those days when I am snowed in.

Haven't done much decorating yet, just passed the anniversary of my husband's passing, my cat just died last week, things just don't feel festive. Am thinking of putting a tree up, will see. There is a house in the neighborhood that puts on quite a light show and collects food items for the needs. I do plan on going there again. Got to get in the spirit. May you and your family have a wonderful Merry Christmas and my prayers for a Happy New Year.

I am from Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia. I decorate with several quilts and wall hangings and I have a lot of different santas. I started to have so many snowmen that they wouldn't fit anymore. So I save them for January decorating.

Thanks for the great give away! I'm from Pennsylvania. We decorate the house with an assortment of old (some VERY old) ornaments and decorations and some new ones to commemorate the recent happenings in our family. I hope to add more "handmade" decorations as time goes on!

What I nice giveaway. I am married to "Bah Humbug" so as we get older I don't decorate as much but still enjoy using quilts and table toppers and my collection of Santa's. He has the outside lights in place. We will spend Christmas with our daughters and families this year.

We go overboard at Christmas - seven trees throughout the house (some big some tiny) and lots of ornaments everywhere!! I'm from Auburn, Alabama mumbird3(at)gmail(dot)com

We're getting older so getting a tree up and the house decorated is a chore, but we still do it. Our grandson used to help us decorate the house outside, but he's married now.
We decorated last year, and never got to have Christmas. I got sick, and it lasted so long we just decided to not do anything. Getting our family together is a chore with all of their schedules.
So this year our family Christmas is the 15th, and I have a ton to do before then!

Hi Jocelyn,
What a nice giveaway! That is sweet of you. I am from Wisconsin. We decorate inside the house quite a bit but not so much the outside. Just a wreath from the Boy Scouts is hanging on the front door. My email is in my profile but just in case rl2b at hotmail dot com works as well. Merry Christmas! ~smile~ Roseanne

We don't decorate at much as we used too. It's more work it seems, the older we get. Lots of quilted wall hangings, throws on the sofa, and tablerunners make up the most of it here in Gillette Wyoming.
Your giveaway is cool. I purchased that book for a gift exchange in one of the groups I belong too....I was sort of "lusting" after it, so it would be fun to win it!

Thanks for sharing a giveaway with us, your readers. Our home on the mississippi river in Western Wisconsin is beginning to look a little like Christmas. In the German tradition, most decorating begins behind closed doors the week before christmas with the big reveal on Christmas eve. Loved it all as a child and now continuing the tradition with the Grands. We then celebrate the holidays into the middle of January. Merry Christmas to you!

From the Jersey Shore area, NJ. Have our tree up.....that is a start! Some years I decorate more than others, inside and out. This year time is flying way to fast!

Decorating for Christmas is a favorite. While I'm not attached to many of the commercial decorations gathered over the years, the homemade ones grow dearer and dearer. From my mom's counted cross stitch to crafts made by the grandies to my own quilts. Each are lovingly displayed and fill my heart with the most beautiful of memories.

Wishing you and yours a peaceful and happy holiday season!

Merry Christmas, Joclyn! Love seeing your blog again. Haven't read blogs in a long time. Missed them. We decorate simply at our home on the Georgia/South Carolina border. I put our snowman dishes out, our rustic Christmas tree, our stockings and Christmas Quilts!!!! So enjoying plugging in our tree and enjoying the lights. Have a fabulous Christmas!

Down in Georgia, I'm keeping the decorations fairly simple--a couple of Christmas wall hangings, a tree, and a live poinsettia. My tree probably needed replacing years ago, but it isn't difficult to assemble, so it stays. Wishing you a Merry Christmas!

Jo in Victoria, Australia. I now use my mums xmas tree. It is only a small on but has fibre octic lights in the tips. It is pretty. I then put the special little decorations on it. A few of these my mum has also made. The wrapped presents go around the base..

I like to have some holiday decoration in each room but I do not have a Christmas quilt for my own bed! Because I always am traveling ov er the holidays, I have also not replaced my tree skirt. Hope to get the tree skirt done this season and I have added the bed quilt to my 2018 goals. Thanks for the the great giveaway!

I’m from Coppell Texas. (15 min from DFW airport). I usually put up a tree, multiple nativity sets, and Christmas quilts. This year due to two kittens, I’ve put up a 3’ tree and the 6’ tree is ornament free. So far no climbing kitties!
