Well it seems that Michaels is taking up the banner since JoAnn's Fabrics is totally closing.
They have a decent selection although not as large as JoAnn's was. Reasonably priced, between 3.99 to 7.99. But in a pinch you could probably find something that appeals to you. Check it out.

They have opened a Michael's store here in the little town we live in just recently. I don't know what all they have since I haven't been in there, but it would be great if they do sell fabric. There isn't any places around here except Walmart and they don't have a big selection.
That's fantastic! Our Michaels doesn't carry fabric
I'm not so concerned about buying quilt fabric, it's garment fabrics, patterns, and notions that so many will be left without.
As to Michaels, based on what I've seen in person...meh. Better than nothing. The store I get to on occasion has a very small selection, and it's clear across the store from the framing department where you need to take it to get cut. Then you need to hope there's an open table and the framer can stop what ever they were already working on to cut fabric. IF it works out, I hope Michaels puts in a dedicated cut table at the fabrics. And the people to staff it.
Thanks for letting us know, I'll have to check it out.
My nearby Michaels is 1 of 2 Michaels in Minnesota that carries fabric now. They have 250 bolts, mainly novelty prints. I'm sure going to miss Joann!
I was in a Michael's a few months ago and was surprised to see they had fabric. It seemed to be mostly licensed prints and a few solids. I hope they expand and carry more--it it's good quality.
Oh, yes, I agree to losing access to garment fabric. I didn't often shop at JoAnn but was glad to have it as an option. (People like me are probably why they went out of business!)
