Today's Promise: I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. |

I have taken pictures of buildings with specialized brick work on them, the back of restaurant booths and washroom walls.
Oh I like that zig-zag one! Inspiration sure comes from lots of places. Have a great day! :-)
I have taken pictures of carpets and floors. Shop windows for color combinations. Sunsets for the colors. You just never know what will strike your fancy.
I find inspiration in patterns on decorative antique bowls and in parkay (sp) wood floors. So much inspiration...so little time :0)

When we lived overseas I would love taking snap shots of doors, floors, ceilings etc...I would see quilting everywhere. It drove the family crazy. Hee!!
I need to be more open about what's around me, great pictures, a wonderful reminder that art is everywhere, if we choose to see it.
Thanks!
I was coming up with one at the dentist last week... looking at the light/dark triangle patterns in the overhead light cover!
I can well remember the first time I took notice of flooring and remarked to my quilting buddy-hey would you look at this pattern.
I always notice them now.
Have a great week.

You have captured some lovely patterns or textures to use in your quilting. I take these kinds of photos too and have a pretty large file of them. If nothing else ever comes of it, at least it encourages me to really look around me and "see."
Of course they are! I always get made fun of because I take pictures of things like that when I'm traveling and not the "normal" stuff!
I see quilt patterns and stitchery patterns everywhere! :0)
I look everywhere, but the ones that really inspire me are iron gates.
The same places you go..airports, graffiti...you name it.
Hi Jocelyn,
Great post - I find myself looking at floors of restaurants and their restrooms for quilt block ideas! :)
I love to look at the architecture of old building for inspiration.
I always look at flooring for quilt patterns! The floor in my MIL's bathroom will be recreated at some point lol!
