What is it??

Is it a bird? A plane?? A Mushroom?????

No it's the Pavillion at Paducah!!

This is where the winning quilts were displayed for the Quilt show this year. Due to the threat of flooding, the Quilt show was moved to different locations around town. The building where the quilt show is normally held is on the wrong side of the flood wall. And because of the threat of flooding, many of the quilts and vendors were moved to the Kentucky Mall location.

I have to say that this was an amazing Quilt show. The Quilts were absolutely beautiful. Many of them were more of a traditional flavor, which is what I like best. Everyone was so happy that the Quilt show was not cancelled. With quilters traveling many many miles ( and some from foreign countries) it would have been very sad to miss this annual mecca hosted in Quilt City USA. It seems that everyone made the best of the situation. We all shopped, and looked at beautiful quilts. We ate at the local restaurants, not to mention Kirchoff's Bakery! Although I cannot post the winning quilts, there are a few pictures I'd like to share over the next few days. So stay tuned.

Happy Quilting !!!

What a worry the potential for flooding must have been for the quilt show planners.... so glad that the show went on despite this in alternate locations! Looking forward to seeing your photos...

My friend had a quilt accepted to the Show. I wish I would have been able to go to see it on display, but my daughter & her family moved last weekend, so I was busy helping her get ready and then get moved.

I would have enjoyed seeing this year's Show, since I prefer the more traditional quilts ... so it sounds like it would have been right up my alley.

You lucky lady to be able to go there. I can't imagine how wonderful and inspiring it must have been. Glad they were able to move the show and avoid a potential threat.
Can't wait to see photos.

I was there, too! We didn't get to see too many of the quilts because it was so crowded and spread out, but what I saw was wonderful. Can't wait to see your pictures so I can see the ones I missed!
