Tell me...........

It is always fun reading other quilt blogs and seeing their collections.  Whether it is scissors, threads, or pin cushions.  My collection has turned out to be --- project bags!

It all started so simply when I would find a pattern and fabric that I liked.  It only made sense to me to keep the fabric and pattern all together...... in a bag.  First it was a bag from the LQS.  They were always in pretty colors.  But then as I collect more fabrics for yet another project, I wandered over to the plastic grocery bags.  Before long I was finding other bags to use.  The "green bags from the stores worked great!  And we cannot forget the giveaway bags from the Quilt shows.  My favorite is using the large over sized zippy bags.  Then one day my hubby comes home with canvas bags from a convention.  These were even sturdier and had handles that held more weight.  whewwww...... I was overrun with project bags.

So have I become a bag lady??  There are so many projects that I have in mind. But before I can even start on the first project, I am drawn to a new one.  Oh MY! Am I the only one dealing with this problem??

I've got bags and I've got projects. NOW - I'm going to put them together! Great and simple idea - how come I never thought of that?

I've have way too many bags! I feel sentimentally attached to a few of them so there is no letting go! I have the same problem with scissors!

No ma'am you are not! Same here. I have been digging in closet this week too. Trying to find room for putting away NEW fabrics!!!

If this habit makes us "bag ladies," then I can't think of any other "club" I want to be a member of!

I have lots of those reusable shopping bags in my sewing room, but the seams keep giving out. After using them to carry yarn... I really need to sew some stronger ones.

I never have the fabrics for a project segregated, except for background fabric. I guess I collect thread :0)

Perhaps I am in the minority but I do not see the problem. I am busy building a stash of fabrics and threads, I intend to retire soon and will have enough material to last me for ages.

A very common problem. Due dates and events that need a quilt keep my bags to a manageable size. ;)

I have projects started...projects not quite there...and then the ones that fly around in my head ready to be started...those are the hardest because they take up much needed space in my brain! Have a great weekend!!

What a great idea, I buy fabrics for projects but before I get round to making them the fabric gets lost in my stash and used up on something else. Will try the bag idea now for definite.

My hubby says that I have too many bags, but, when I leave the house, I need a bag to carry whatever I'm taking. After that, the bag is the 'things' new home until it is finished. Tote bags are great!

I have been trying to keep organized and I bought a few of the plastic storage totes...13X13 and these work well for placing the fabrics and pattern in...now, I have filled these up and won't start another new project till I have an empty tote to store in while I work on it. So far ....good!

LOL...I thought I was the only one! Everytime I see a new bag I think what a great project bag. Everytime I go to JoAnns I buy a bag instead of using the plastic bags to put my purchase in. But let's face it I think I have more bags then projects. Have a great Sunday. Hugs

Funny, as I too have a good collection of bags, project bags, and project totes in my sewing room. Definitely afflicted with thinking about new project opportunities, before I finish a project. Need some serious time to finish a large UFO collection. :)
