Family Traditions

Does your family have traditions? We have one at Christmas time. My hubby's family has been getting together for Christmas Eve for over 50 years. His Grandmother started the tradition, then his mother took it over. Hubby's father passed away in January, but we were still able to spend that special time with him last year. Now with both of his parents gone, this year we will be gathering in our home.

Never a lack of good food.

It's also fun to see all the cousins together.

Wow -- quite a spread! That's part of the fun of Christmas, isn't it? Playing out family traditions and sometimes even creating new ones!! :)

Christmas greetings to you! Our family tradition is that we gather for a brunch on Christmas eve and open presents(there are 17 of us when we are together), then on Christmas night we have a dinner with eveeryone. Both of our daughters split up the meals, but we all take dishes. Loved hearing about yours.
Hugs, Noreen

Way, way back, when I was in high school (or before) our family would attend the Christmas Eve service at our church, with close friends, and then all of us would go out for Chinese food. This continued, as we had extra guests for the holidays, and, as the kids all got married, and had kids of our own. We moved away, 20 years ago, but, we still try to find a Chinese restaurant to eat at on Christmas Eve. Last year we invited the pastor and his wife, and another family to join us.
