It's never a convenient time, BUT.......

Well I have not blogged much in the last couple of days because of this............

Yes you are seeing right. It is a refrigerator. And it decided to die :-( So the usual quandry of what to buy, what to do with the food that was IN the refrigerator, etc, etc..... you get the picture. New one arrived yesterday.........late! We've been eating out for the last few nights, and of course there was grocery shopping to do. And you do remember that it is Christmas time, right?? I know it is never a convenient time to lose an appliance, but at Christmas time!!!

One nice thing that happened today. I stopped by our local Hospice thrift store on the way to the grocery store and found a box of quilt magazines.

10 copies for $1.00! Can't beat that deal.

So not much quilting or sewing going on for the last few days. But hopefully things will be back on track next week.

Have a great weekend!

Sorry to to hear about the fridge...would you believe I have a perfectly good one for sale on Craig's list along with a like new dishwasher?! My hubby bought us all stainless steel appliances after the oven was going out. I just wanted the oven replaced but he insisted we upgrade the kitchen...eventually new countertops I guess. Anyway...just read this and thought...here I have a good one sitting in garage just waiting for somebody to take it!

Too bad about your fridge! It always hurts to have to replace an appliance, but at Christmas it's even worse! Great score on the magazines!

So sorry this has happened. You're right - there's no good time for a fridge to konk out.

Oh no! Sorry you've had this additional stress. Hope the new refrigerator is "purring" and keeping things cool.

Oh bummer about the fridge - glad you got your new one though. You're right it's never a good time, BUT.
Great mags for a great price - if you can't sew, at least you can read about it!

That happened to us a few years ago at Thanksgiving time! And they kept trying to repair it over a 3 month time then finally replaced it for free. It was a LONG 3 months!

Congrats on winning the Sherrod Studio stamp set too. :)

Sorry to hear about your refrigerator. Is it the season of appliance repairs? Our washer is acting up and our over the range microwave quit working! We ordered a new one today. We just keep shaking the washer control panel, and it starts agitating again. I know one of these days it's just going to quit washing-period.

I sympathise with the fridge issue! Ours died on a stinking hot day one summer a few years ago - worst possible time!
That bundle of quilting magazines is a great bargain!

Mine died a few years ago on the 22 or 23...forget which now...I about died. We were on way to pick up ham and stopped by a locally private owned appliance store. GOD BLESS THEM...it was the last day they were going to be open before Christmas so I'm thinking the 23rd. I told them what my current one was size and style wise and what did they have in stock that came close that would fit into my slot for it, between cabinets. He found one in his warehouse and had it in my kitchen that afternoon! I had grabbed coolers and the rubbermaid type plastic tote tubs with lids, hubby ran to 7-11 and bought Ice coming out of the gazoo, filled them and sat them on the back patio in the shade where it was the coldest spot.
