The weather outside is -

------- COLD!

Okay, so I am not a cold hearty person. But this is what is going on in my house today......

Yes they are tearing out all the duct work and replacing all the duct and a new AC/Heat unit is going in. But today it is in the low 40's. Yes, wimp, wimp, wimp. You guys up there in the minus temps, I am a wimp. We turned the heat up before the workers came, and actually got the house pretty warm. But they have been going in and out and there is no heat left in the house right now. So our house is as cold inside as it is outside.

What do you think about having your house look like this four days before Christmas?

sigh..............

And they will be working in every room replacing the vents. There is dust and fiber everywhere :-(

SO being that I can't do much of anything, I thought I would have a quick little giveaway. Here are the goods -

How about Meme's Quilts All Thru the Year Applique Towel Pattern

and four towels to get you started

and just to sweeten the giveaway, I'll include a little bit of fabric so you can start the New Year right. You should be able to start with the Rooster applique.

No hoops to jump through. Just leave me a comment (be sure I have a way to contact you), and I will pick a winner the day after Christmas. If you are a follower, leave me a second comment and I will add you in a second time.

Maybe this will give you a fun and easy little project to start the New Year off right :-)

Sorry about the intrusion of the heat problem, the drop sheets don't add to the Christmas charm, huh? Hopefully it will be fixed SOON!! Thank you for finding time to host a giveaway in the middle of it all.

Oh what a mess to have right now! But the heat will be wonderful once everything is done! Great giveaway! Thanks so much! :0)

Despite the mess with the AC etc... I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!!!

Ugh, what a sucky date to get vents replaced. Then again, maybe better have this done in the cold than in the heat :) You can always bundle up under all those quilts!

Cute applique patterns!

Cheers,
Christine

You can call me a wimp too. 40F is considered winter where we live. It will be nice to start the New Year off with the new duct work though won't it. Do you have an electric heater or fireplace you can start up and sit and read by? That's what I'd do. Happy vacuuming.

Good luck keeping warm! It will be nice, I'm sure, when they get it all done and you get to turn the heat on with your new system for the first time. It will make it all worth while! Darling giveaway!

Angie said...

Looks like you will be dusting the Christmas decorations! But it's going to be so nice to have a new heating/cooling system! Portable heater should keep you toasty until the new system is up and running. I like the towels and I have you on my favorite blog list! So, your new postings move to the top of the blog list if you post. Love reading your blog! Merry Christmas!

Your poor house! I hope that you aren't expecting company with all that dust. Definately bundle up. I remeber when our heater was broken a few years ago for almost 2 month how chilly a home can be--Light lots of candles, even during the day, they seem to warm up the atmosphere.

Please enter me into your drawing. Thanks

Oh, Jocelyn...I truly sympathize with you. We had a tree crash onto our house in the summer and the result was that we had to live in another end of the house for 3+ weeks while the repairs went on (at a time when we were supposed to have the grands for their little vacation with us...had to postpone that). Luckily, we had a restoration firm that was excellent about containing dust and cleaning it up each day AND cleaned the whole area at the end of the job. The lack of heat would bother me, too...and I am a "northerner" my whole life...so you are NOT a wimp!!! LOL Please enter me in you nice giveaway, okay?
