Remember last week when the red fabric revealed to me that it would bleed?? I normally pre-wash my fabric before cutting into it, but this time I was in a hurry and, and......... well you know the story.
I know that Color Catcher is a very good product to use when washing colors that may bleed. Very interestingly I read a blog post on Forty-Two Quilts which addressed this very issue. If you are in doubt, read Jennifer's post Stop the Bleed. Great food for thought. i luv color catchers and throw one in the wash every time i wash a quilt the first time. I would be heart-broken if i had a quilt that bled.
I love color catchers. I have been using it for years. I prewash all my fabrics. If I make someone a quilt with lots of reds in it I give them a sheet and tell them to use it when they wash it. Nothing worse than giving a quilt and it is ruined in the first washing. Hugs.
Will the color catchers get the red out of the quilt that ran? I've always wondered. Thanks.
Great tip, thanks. Does it take out blood? I was sewing sew fast last week that I caught the edge of my finger in the needle - ouch. Better than Angela who put the needle right though her finger though.

Awe those reds are bad for bleeding, ask me how I know. I use the color catchers quite often and they work well.
I have never tried this product. Will it work on a quilt that was washed and bled?

Those Color Catchers are the best invention!! Once upon a time you could get something like them but they looked like terry cloth and were reusable for several washings. I was heartbroken when they quit making them, though the Shout ones work wonderfully.

I always wash my fabrics first and when they are dark I always throw those in. Pretty cool.
