No!! Our Hobby Lobby has had all of this out since JULY.....and that was the last time I went there!!! Too early and much too rushed for me!!!!

Noo! It´s too early. But some shops have started with Christmas in Sweden too.

Count me in. I saw halloween candy in stores in August. They just over do it and when the holiday comes you are tired of it. So sad. Our grocery store has christmas candy mixed in with the halloween ones.

I agree....by the time Christmas rolls around, we have been so inundated with decorations and trees that it doesn't even seem special any more (except for celebrating the birth of Jesus!). Our Hobby Lobbby's here have had Christmas stuff out since July! *sigh*

XOXO,

Cyndi

I don't think it's early to start thinking Christmas (though you have Thanksgiving to live before) but it's definetly too soon to have shops playing jingles and showing Christmas Decor and Gifts.

But since it is for me the minor detail of Christmas it can be around that doesn't bother me too much...

Our Wal-Mart and Lowe's have had Christmas trees and decorations out for at least a month to six weeks. Thanksgiving is just kind of passed over. Here in my home, we do not put any Christmas decorations out until the 1st of December.

It's absolutely crazy! Our Hobby Lobby has had it all up since July - ugh!!!!

it's scary, isn't it?? But, I guess we don't have a choice :) I love the holiday season but it just came too fast this year...

Our Hobby Lobby has had Christmas up for a long time now too. Well, ready or not, it's here, so I better just try to enjoy it. I haven't even started wandering the Christmas aisles yet, I have to at least wait for Halloween to be over before I can think about it. I do think about making gifts way ahead of time though, but that is out of necessity. I have to admit that I decorate the house for Halloween early September. I just love it so much I want it to be up as long as possible!
Hugs,
Julie

Seems like it comes earlier every year. I sew all the time with the idea it could be used for gifts at Christmas. It is never far from the thoughts!

Nope, not ready at all!

I'm not ready either! My favorite radio station that I listen to online, 93.1 Easy Listening out of Wildwood Crest, NJ is playing Christmas music all day already - um...its OCTOBER! I thought it was a joke. I have to admit, I do LOVE everything Christmas though :) Merry Christmas friend!

don't we still have about 5-6 months before Christmas? Oh No! Only 5-6 WEEKS! Eek! I'm behind, as usual.

Are you kidding? I haven't even bought Halloween candy yet!

Although, I don't mind so much the arts & crafts stuff being out so early. I mean, people have to have time to get stuff made, right? It's definitely too early for general merchandise, though!

As slow as I am this year (physically), I need to have started already. Since our daughters are grown and we have no grandchildren, Halloween isn't something we do any more. We go to a relative's for Thanksgiving, so I can get into Christmas most any day now.
Love Christmas music. I turned on my Christmas music the other day to do housework. It lifts my spirits.

I was in a Marshall's at the beginning of Oct. hoping to find cool Halloween decorations. It was all Christmas, with just a few pumpkins. Sad.

Hi, I'm not ready for it either. Yesterday hubby and I went to Lowe's and I commented to the gal that it was too early for Christmas decorations and she said they've had them since the summer. I'm holding on to fall for as long as I can.

Hahaha! I'm not ready for the actual season, but I have been creating for it ... making all those Christmas-sy knick-knacks and whatnots for Sunday School teachers and teachers, and exchange gifts and whatever takes TIME! I like that it's out there and I can get B-U-S-Y! :)

I know!! We're not even through Halloween yet. And my most favorite holiday, Thanksgiving, gets totally ignored!

Omg. it is definitely too early for any Christmas stuff. Imgaine if it came out the 10th of December. Everyone would grab it all up as it is the season!
Just read about the iron info. How did you pick your Rowenta? It is the most expensive right? I have a Black and Decker, about 30.00 and it's great for everything. like you I do spritz.

NO! That is just not right.

OK...here's my honest, HONEST TAKE...

Because I'm in the retail business I'm always thinking way ahead of time about the holidays, especially Christmas. As a maker of product I must be able to get my hands on some things in order to fashion what I sell. If the stores don't sell some things early enough (Christmas garland, ornaments to paint, fabric etc.) then I can't get the stuff I need in order to create what I sell. As a one-man-show if Christmas stuff comes out too late then I'm hosed. My only other option is to purchase in July at the wholesale market and then I'm faced with large minimums. I also know that in-home holiday designers need to get their hands on product early as well... It's hard to find a balance!!!!

I do draw the line on Christmas music being played too early (I better not hear it until AFTER Thanksgiving) and just this morning I saw Christmas wreaths outside a large shopping center! PLA-LEEEZE! Irritated me for sure! That was OVER THE TOP!

No, absolutely not! I do miss having a Hobby Lobby nearby. We don't have a Hobby Lobby in our area.

Two thumbs down! I look forward to Autumn and I don't appreciate having to look through the Christmas decorations to find it! I avoid Hobby Lobby if at all possible at this time of year. If I have to go in, I just avoid that corner of the store. I love Christmas, but Christmas in July is a bit much.

I can't even think of Christmas this year. I am just too excited about welcoming 3 granddaughters all due in December...Christine

My only consolation is that Hobby Lobby puts Christmas on sale almost before Halloween is over. I agree though...it's all a bit overwhelming...almost unseemly. Cherry Kay

Believe it or not, I think I am! LOL! I want to get things done ahead of time this year, and we are inching closer and closer. Last year I was so late getting my shopping done that I wore myself out. This year, I plan to savor Christmas. So I think I'm ready. I think. LOL!

Sheila

My sister always puts all her decs up by mid-October, and they stay up till about the end of Feb!
