Pink Strings

My Pink Strings quilt is coming right along. I have finished up these blocks.

I think I just need three more and then I will start sewing the blocks together.

Here is the link for the tutorial at the Craftsy website. It will be listed under the March BOM. The tutorial is made with 6 1/2" blocks but I made mine 8". I did use white muslin for the foundation. I love how it looks with the white strip in the center. I plan to put a small white border around the whole quilt.

This has been so much fun, digging through my scrap fabric, finding material that was used on other projects :-) Sweet happy memories.

I love string quilts. Yours is beautiful in those colors.
A couple of years ago we had a block swap for a string quilt. On the white string we wrote our names and countries. It ended up being a beautiful and colorful quilt, interesting to look at because of the variety in fabrics.

this is looking really nice, I want to do a string quilt too one day, I like how your first strip is white and the rest are pink... how big are the blocks and did you have paper behind it?

I love string quilts and this one is one of the prettiest! I love the pink. I don't think I have enough of one color to do this, but I sure would like to.

I really like how the string quilts look when there is a "color theme". I think the white muslin looks really pretty in the center too! When I have made these kinds of blocks, I put an extra strip of the solid back fabric...right under the middle and when the two first strips are sewn it is held in place. This gives the center a bit more strength...as the strip parts are a wee bit heavier. =)

Very very nice. I've never made a string quilt before, and have actually also been following along with the Craftsy BOM and really want to try one. I also liked the broken spider web block.

Your pink strings is so gorgeous. This is quite a compliment coming from me because I don't favor pink.
