Two plates and 15 screws later, I was sent to this place two weeks after surgery.
And this has been my full time job for the last 14 weeks.
I start my therapy here...........
in the hot box :-) My hand is warmed with the swirling of crushed corn stalks.
And this has been my view...............
and some of the toys I get to play with.
BUT good news is ahead...... Because I had such an amazing hand therapist (thank you Emily), and I've been doing my homework, this weekend I was doing THIS.............
Yes friends and neighbors, the Happy Cottage Quilter has been wielding the Olfa Rotary Cutter and making those all important cuts. A baby quilt in the making!!!
Is it time to party yet???

Well done, I know exactly how hard you worked to get to this stage.
Absolutely...party on! I know how hard you have worked to get to return to sewing and how exciting it is to be able to hold that rotary cutter again. So celebrate for the rest of your life!
Congratulations on your recovery! So glad you had such good care after the surgery. I know, it could not have been easy....
Woohoo!!!!! I'm so happy for you! Your perseverance paid off! I couldn't have been easy, either. Well done! Yay!
Oh happy day!
Congratulations! Enjoy your sewing! :0)
So happy for you! I know how hard this has been for you. PT is hard work but so worth it if you hang in there!

May I ask where you located your pins from a few posts ago?
Yeah! such good news :-) It sounds like you have had some wonderful help. Strong work doing all those exercises!
Welcome back! :) I can only imagine how happy you are to be reunited with your cutter and the sewing machine! I imagine it's been a very long 4 months, but I am happy to hear that you have healed and are ready to roll! Looking forward to the fun projects you will be making!

Yea! Does this mean that I can take down the note that says you are having surgery on Dec 6th (11:15am)? Yep, still have the note taped to the computer desk. Congrats!
Congratulations on your recovery. I hope your hand continues to heal well and you'll be able to quilt at full speed again very soon.
best wishes for your continued recovery and whoop whoop for back to crafting!
Definitely party time I'd say. Well done on getting to this stage, I hope the recovery continues just as brilliantly.
OH YES!!!! It is definitely time for some major fireworks :) I'm so happy for you. I remember the process, mine not as long as yours...but pretty boring indeed. Good for you for keeping up with it so now you can get back to the fun stuff of life.
Hugs,
Kelly
yIPPEE! You deserve fireworks, cake, and champagne? But most importantly, FABRIC!!!!
So glad to hear you are getting better!! Praying you will make a complete recovery!
Yeay! Take it easy:)
We are all doing a happy dance with you and FOR you!!! So wonderful you can enjoy time with your sewing machine again!
Such great news. I am so happy, happy for you!!!
I so know what that is like and can totally sympathize. A bunch of years ago I broke my wrist, same story..needed surgery though you have me beat since I only have 1 plate and not 2, but the physical therapy was essential. I didn't start until 6 weeks after surgery per docs orders and my wrist was frozen straight. It took a long, long time to get it moving again. Thank goodness it all worked out because right after I finished my sessions, we flew to Vietnam to bring our baby boy home.
How wonderful! OT's are the best. Did you get to enjoy the parafin dip? That was always nice and toasty.
So glad you're sewing again!!! Congrats.
Good girl. It really does pay to be diligent and obedient. So glad you are back again.
Party on!!! *horn blowing*
Yay! So glad you are back at the sewing machine. You've earned it!!
