Okay, I did it! Pressed it, backed it, quilted it, and did the binding. It's done and ready for the table.
I used a large button for the bell. The jury is still out on that one, but for now, it stays.
And while we are speaking of tablerunners, this one is coming along as well.
Can anyone offer a suggestion about a backing? This was a kit, so there is no more red fabric (my first choice) and I really don't care for the fabric that was in the kit (although I could use it for another project). This fabric was so stretchy and the HST were not playing nice.
Also pop over to Abbey Lane Quilts blog. They have three delightful tablerunners up on their blog. Easy peasy patterns. Oh and they are having a giveaway too :-)
I am linking up with SewCalGal's Virtual Christmas Quilt Show! Stop by and see all the lovely Christmas quilts on display.
I am also joining Amy today for Sew and Tell :-)
Have a great quilty day ;-)

Hi there, Absolutely beautiful table runner. As for the back, I think a green Christmas fabric(Holly maybe)would look nice. Love your projects and again you are inspiring me!
Thank you for sharing.
I love the table runner!
You might need a backstitched line to make something for the button to "hang" from, then I think I'd leave the button.
Oh, they are wonderful - the button on the bell is nice touch. :-) Way to go!
You did it! I love it...it's gorgeous! They both are.
Absolutely beautiful. Your table runner and quilt are inspirational. I'd love to have that table runner on my dining room table. Lovely.

ps - hope you watch the entries in the Virtual Christmas Quilt Show. Random drawing on December 25th!
Sweet Christmas runner. Just add a bit of thread or a thin fabric piece to the button..will look like it is the ringer ringing!
Are you binding this one or just turning? Even so I think any of the colors from the top would work, very pretty.
Lola
Nice finish! I like the button on the bell.
These projects both turned out lovely. I am partial to the Lady of the Lake blocks because I LOVE scrappy! Nice job! Anything goes for the back.
that is really pretty and I like the bell.
Happy Holidays,
Cleary
I would not have known that was a button for the bell if you had not mentioned it. Cute. I like your re-work, looks good. Why couldn't you put a plain fabric on the back for the table runner? No one will really see the back.
The runners looks great. :0)
WTG Jocelyn! You got the quilting and binding done fast. I like the button idea. Hey I just saw on Fat Cat Quilt blog that you won Allyson's drawing, lucky you.
I love both of your table runners! They are both different and colorful. Beautiful work!

I love the button for the bell. I love all of your goodies.
Both table runners are great!! I agree, you need to put the line from the button up into the bell. As for backing the other, since it's a table runner anything will work for the back :0) Hmmm...I seem to be just repeating what others have said LOL.
Crispy
VERY nice runners......but I think the suggestion to put some stitching to show where the button is hanging from is a good one!
How cute! Great job sewing away!!
Beautiful, Jocelyn. May I ask where you got the pattern for the ornament tablerunner?
These look great! I would use a backing that matches your binding and quilting thread--maybe a calico? Something like that.
Love the tablerunners. Also love the big button so I say keep it. You could always use a cord or ribbon leading to it if you think it looks like it is floating.
Any fabric goes on the back that is the right coloring to work with the front. What about something pieced?
Have you been to my blog? I am having a giveaway and soon another with a scrap bag of my Christmas fabrics. There is also another chance soon on my home and garden blog for the coasters.
Hugs ~
Heidi
Very nice Tablerunners. Good Job, hope you figured out the backing fabric by now. You could make it reversible if that's a preference.
Nice runners! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
A very cute table runner. Love the ribbon and bell on it. The button is a great idea too.
It's beautiful, Jocelyn. And, I do like the button. I like a little embellishment - great addition!
Personally I LOVE the button for the bell clapper!
Your runner came out really pretty!
Great finish! The table runners are really beautiful!
Very, very pretty tablerunner...
the table runners are lovely! Have you ever tried backing one with just flannel? I have been doing that lately and I like how they turn out. :)
Nice table runners and I like the button on the bell. Didn't realise it was a button until you pointed it out.
I love your table runners. I am partial to a check backing fabric.
these are lovely quilt runners....i need to make more, they just look wonderful
Aren't these pretty! I like the button clapper, too.
Lovely table runners! I like the button for the bell, good idea! Happy Holidays.
Lovely tablerunner.
I love them both! Beautiful quilting on the top one. I think I'd choose blue for the backing (ok, being honest, if it was mine I'd probably do muslin thinking no one would ever see it, and use blue for the binding :)
Both table runners look great. Thanks for sharing.
The button on your bell is a great idea!
