While I was visiting my BFF last month, I was a guest in her basement apartment. She has it decorated so beautifully. One of the things that stood out to me was how she uses her quilts around her home.
This old Singer stand at one time had a top on it.
But my BFF took off the top and had her Dad make rods to fit across the frame. She now uses it as a quilt rack.
A simple idea made into a lovely display area :-)

That is too cute! I have my grandmother's metal base to a sewing machine. She took it apart and used a large old heater grate for the top. It was always on her porch full of plants. Now I use it as a tabe behind my couch.
That is sooo clever, Jocelyn! Wish I'd have thought of this before I got rid of mine!!
Love the quilt! Have a lovely eve.

Do not know how long the old one will hold up.

that is a great idea.........
Great idea Jocelyn. I have seen them with table top. Your quilt looks beautiful - Hugs Nat
That's a great idea! I have a base just like that with no cabinet. My father-in-law build a wooden table top for it...I keep it in my kitchen and use it for extra counter space.
Nice re-make. I love it when people do that.
what a great idea and such a pretty quilt.
What a neat idea!!!
That is very clever!!
What a great, great idea!
That is a very pretty way to display a quilt, those old stands are pieces of art.

Great way to repurpose that wonderful base.
Hey, I have one of those in hubby's scrap heap somewhere! If it hasn't been thrown out, I'll show him what he can make me for Christmas!
Great quilt rack idea!
Your tablerunner is lovely and I think the button "works".

A quilt rack is such a great idea for the sewing machine frame! I have an old one that I put a table top on and it's on my back patio...thanks for sharing another great idea:)

That is a beautiful quilt and a beautiful and creative way to display it! And, your giveaway prize from Turtle Hill (?) looked fantastic. Hours of fun huh? Enjoy!
that is a very good idea. I've got the bottom of a singer machine. Right now I think it is in the garage with just a piece of board sitting on top of if to put things on. I've been meaning to have a top permanently attached to it. It makes a great quilt rack for a beautiful quilt.
Another great idea for a sewing machine base! Love it. I so envy your ability to quilt. I have all kinds of tops and not a clue what to do with them. Thank you for visiting junkblossoms. I hope you will visit often. Merry Christmas.
