How come no one told me

how much fun these are to make!!!

For a long time I've wanted to make these scrappy string blocks. One day I came across a tutorial on Craftsy that got me going. It is so fun to use up all the scraps that have been piling up. I did sign up for the Craftsy subscription, but I have to tell you that I unsubscribed because I started getting a TON of spam!! Now I don't normally get much spam via my email, but this was the only thing different I had signed up for and wowser, did it start coming in droves. So just a little warning..............

Have a Happy Quilting day!

they ARE fun, I finished the bonnie hunter mystery quilt she had at christmas and we made blocks like these too- mine were pink too, then cut then into triangles and that's when MY trouble started, when they got sewn into blocks these string blocks got skewed or stretched or something like that, I mananged.... but now I know to be extra careful

I unsubscribed from Craftsy awhile ago for the same reason...seems like it was all just one big advertisement!

Love your string blocks though...very pretty in pink!

I made all my kids strings quilts when I first started quilting. Great way to use those scraps.

I really like the fabrics you picked out for the scrappy string block. I could get hooked on this block too. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful, I also love to make string blocks, they are so fun to do! I made a throw size with 24 9" string blocks this weekend, entirely from scraps...already started another one...at least one of them will go to "hands2help"...have fun!

How pretty!!! I really, really want to do this too...did you use a foundation? I hate the thought of that, and not pressing my seams open...but I suppose I could machine quilt it!

Gee Whiz, that's awful about getting all that spam; not fun. I LOVE Craftsy and have signed up for quite a few of their courses. I don't remember any particular increase in my spam. Yes, they do send emails out telling about the courses they offer - they are expanding the courses, have added workshops, and patterns, etc. I don't mind those at all and I like hearing about new things.

I've emailed them with several questions and they were prompt and absolutely helped me.

The only problem with "spam" was an email I received just last week. It just did not ring true and I did not respond to it or click on the link within. What I did do was forward it to Hannah at Craftsy and guess what? I heard back shortly telling me that Craftsy had NOT sent out this email and thanking me for letting them know.

No, I'm not a representative of Craftsy, just a satisfied customer.
