Woohop from me!!! That is what my Iphone does when I want to write something like Whoop Whoop! lol Love your Sunbonnet Sues! My Mom started a quilt with these precious little ones! She is going to embellish each block with blows and embroidery, etc. I don't have a clue about the quilting! You inspire me!
I've never seen the Sue's with their bloomers sticking out, too cute :-) I can't tell how big they are, but often with dense applique I do a dense stippling/meandering on the background, and leave the applique so it stands out, here maybe do an outline across the bottom and top of the dress and that's it.
They're so adorable! I'd do what Beaquilter said and do dense quilting around the actual applique. That's what I did with my own Sunbonnet Sue last week.
I've seen lots of Sunbonnet Sue's, but, none quite like yours. Sew cute! You could do echo quilting around the Sue's, and a small pattern in the sashing.
SO CUTE!!!!! Those are really darling. I would quilt just outside the edge of the applique....then probably do a boring diamond grid behind them, lol!!!
What a sweet little quilt! I did echo quilting around the little girls, then quilted in each of the borders and sashing. Boring - I like the suggestion of dense quilting around the appliques! Whoop whoop!!
Adorable! I have a whole bunch of heirloom SBS blocks that my mom made as a teenager. Someday I'll make them into baby quilts for my two daughters, so it's nice to see the quilting suggestions here. Yours is just so cute all in pink!

Oh such a sweet quilt. This one is sure to be coveted for years to come.
Very cute! I would quilt each of them something to have in their hand...a flower, a basket, a watering can, a dog on a leash, etc... have fun!
Oh! I'd have just suggested outline stitching ... and then I read Kathy's comment above -- what a clever idea!!! They are quite darling! :)
Whoop Whoop!! they are darling, I've always enjoyed and wanted to make Sunbonnet Sues. Putting it on my list, thanks.
