Hunting for treasures

It's so fun to look for treasures when I go into a thrift store. I seem to look at them with new eyes.

I loved finding this dishcloth with the sweet embroidered girl. I'd love to find more with the different days of the week.

And then there was this pretty cross stitched tablecloth, in perfect condition.

Things like these are getting harder and harder to find in our area.

And then one day I walked into an antique shop in Plant City, and spied this vintage quilt.

oooo what fun!

Isn't it pretty? This is only the second hand made quilt I have ever bought, and they are both in perfect condition. And I might add that both times I made an offer and the owners accepted it!

Love your churn dash quilt. What fun. The only vintage quilt I've bought is a GFG hand piece top only. It's in perfect conditions, just don't know what to do with it so I can use it.

Ah the day of the week dish towels!!! When I was a little girl that is all we used. I was taught very early to embroider and crochet (6/7 years old) and in the evenings mom and I never sat down without something to do in our hands. That day of the week girl you found, I still have a couple from that pattern that I did those evenings, I also did several sets of Sunbonnet Sue day of the week...but my favorites were the animals, so we had oodles of cat and dog day of the cloths. Most of the all used up. Funny, we didn't think anything of using them for their intended purpose back then. Now we hold them dear and use them to decorate and make us smile. Good times, fond memories. Thanks for sharing your great bargain finds with us. Big Hugs...

What wonderful treasures! I think I have the transfer patterns for Days of the Week dishtowels among my collection of vintage patterns - can't seem to pass them up at yard sales, thrift stores, etc. What a wonderful find your churn dash quilt is! Those are much more difficult to find around these parts.
