Happy Thanksgiving

So once in every year we throng
Upon a day apart,
To praise the Lord with feast and song
In thankfulness of heart.

Wishing you a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving!

30 beautiful quilt patterns

for FREE!!

Here is another great resource for Quilt patterns and tutorials.  Hop over to U Create.  They have listed not only the patterns but a beautiful snap shot of each quilt too.  A couple of years ago I made the Hour Glass Quilt by Cluck Cluck Sew.

It's a great pattern to work with.

Isn't it great to have all these patterns right at your fingertips??

Pass it on

Finishing this quilt for a sweet young woman who works with Prison ministries.  We have known her for years and she has such a selfless and loving spirit.

I hope this will help make her Christmas bright.

Protecting Tanner Hollow

I love a good mystery. And Lynette Eason certainly delivered with Protecting Tanner Hollow. A fast paced, wonderful collection of four suspense novellas.

Each novella draws you in to a small town, Tanner Hollow, and introduces you to several characters, Each are well developed with interesting plots. Mystery and romance runs concurrently through out the stories. Although somewhat connected, each story is a stand alone read.

I've read a couple of Miss Eason's novels but this one by far was the most grabbing to me. Although each story is short, they play out well with a satisfying ending. A good clean enjoyable book, that will keep you guessing.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Not much to look at

While we were away, I had an opportunity to visit a couple of quilt shops. There was not a lot of appeal so my visits were brief. But I did capture a couple of things that interested me.

I thought this bag was well done, although it was quite large. It uses a whole panel.

And this one was quite handsome.

I hope you have a happy quilting day!

A time away

We had an opportunity to get away for a few days.  All in the comfort of our own little mobile cottage.

In the mornings, before we would open the blinds and curtains, we let the sun shine in through the port holes.  What a lovely wake up call.
We enjoyed breakfast in our little kitchen.  The dinette is the perfect size for two.
When we arrived at our destination, we set up for the duration.
Everything set up so nicely. Nice balmy weather in the mid 70's.
My hubby was participating in a sporting event, so every morning I would sit in this little spot, letting the sun warm me as I read a book by one of my favorite authors.  I also sewed down another Christmas gift.

Hope you are having a good weekend

Tops in the works

I have several Christmas quilts to be finished. I have always enjoyed using the colorful colors of Christmas. But as I get closer to December 25th, other things take over before I can finish.

So here are some of the flimsy quilt tops.

I'm hoping!!

So cute!

Every year I love to post this project because it think it's SO cute!

I made these a few years ago for the children of friends.  They were fun and easy.  There is a Hershey bar wrapped under the snowman.  I still think this is one of the cutest little gifties for someone whether they are young or old :-)

You can find a link for the template HERE.
(p.s. be sure to turn the template to the Landscape position before printing)
